When Gov. DeSantis flew illegal aliens over to Martha’s Vineyard, residents of the exclusive island threw a fit, rushed out to greet them for the cameras, fundraised off them and then had them removed from the island.
The famously exclusive enclaves of the Obamas, Oprah and the assorted rich and famous has plenty of room.
It notably lacks the affordable housing that destroyed so many suburbs when federal judges and leftist non-profits descended on them and demanded that they turn themselves into slums.
But that’s because it has actual political privilege.
And lefties boast that they’ll see to it that the illegal migrants will go where they want them to anyway.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis spent taxpayers’ money on flying migrants to Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts and some of those people are “still going to wind up in Florida anyway,” said Domingo Garcia, the president of the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC).
“Resistance is futile, you will be assimilated.”
The amount of taxpayer money spent flying one illegal to Martha’s Vineyard is tiny compared to the cost of housing, feeding, medically treating and policing that migrant for one year.
Never mind four decades.
Martha’s Vineyard residents know that perfectly well and have no intention of paying for it.
That’s what the rest of the country is for.
