I’ve got an article up today showing the obvious chronological problems with the media’s claim that the Hunter Biden laptop is a Russian operation.
John Paul Mac Isaac, the Delaware computer repair store owner who got the laptop, claimed that he came into possession of it on April 12, 2019.
Biden only announced his candidacy in late April.
That would mean that the Russians had launched their disinformation operation against Biden before he was even running…
So yes. No.
But the media keeps running clickbait headlines like this one, “Hunter Biden story is Russian disinfo, dozens of former intel officials say” with stories that don’t back up the claim.
You can guess exactly who the “intel officials” are. Guys like Clapper and Brennan who function as Democrat and media operatives. And they’re not claiming that it is Russian disinfo, but that it, “has all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation.”
Facebook, which insisted that it couldn’t allow the Hunter Biden laptop story because it was unverified, isn’t throttling these unverified claims.
The key part of the letter, which the media conveniently doesn’t quote, states, “We want to emphasize that we do not know if the emails, provided to the New York Post by President Trump’s personal attorney Rudy Giuliani, are genuine or not and that we do not have evidence of Russian involvement — just that our experience makes us deeply suspicious that the Russian government played a significant role in this case.”
We don’t know.
So we’ve gone from ” “Hunter Biden story is Russian disinfo” to “We do not know”.
Quite a difference there. It’s a certainly a good thing that the media doesn’t fact check its own spin and that social media companies don’t throttle it.
This letter is spin. The media presents it as fact while continuing its policy of refusing to actually report on the contents of the Biden laptop.
