It’s the Obama playbook.
When there’s more corruption by Andrew Gillum, it’s time for another fake racism scandal.
Undercover FBI agents paid for Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum’s hotel room and his ticket to the Broadway musical Hamilton during a 2016 trip to New York City, according to a bombshell trove of records that raises new questions two weeks before the Nov. 6 election for Florida governor.
Among the records released Tuesday: photos, a video and dozens of text messages between Gillum, who is the Democratic nominee for governor, former lobbyist Adam Corey and an undercover FBI agent. They appear to contradict Gillum’s explanation for the expenses, which have been made an major issue by his Republican rival, Ron DeSantis.
So it’s time for a ridiculously fake racist robocall.
A racist robocall that refers to Andrew Gillum as a “negro” and a “monkey” is making the rounds in Florida, prompting a furious response from the Democratic gubernatorial candidate’s campaign.
“Well hello there. I is the negro Andrew Gillum and I’ll be askin’ you to make me governor of this here state of Florida,” the voice says.
“My state opponent, who done call me monkey, is doin’ a lot of hollerin’ about how ‘spensive my plans for health care be,” the voice says. A chimpanzee noise is played during the word “monkey.”
Subtle.
This certainly sounds like a plausible plan to shift public opinion, toward Gillum, while distracting from his corruption scandal.
An actual robocall trying to influence voters would have gone for the middle. This sounds like a lefty’s idea of what a racist robocall would sound like.
