Every time you think Trump Derangement Syndrome has hit some kind of bottom, it hits a new low.
This USA Today article is notable for two things, the bizarre conspiracy theories that Democrat TDS manages to craft, and the reality that the media is helpless to stop feeding the monster it made. This isn’t so much an article as a strange missive written at political gunpoint.
Twitter Dem TDS has crafted the idea that President Trump is taking coronavirus medications to raise their stock value and make money.
It’s a new low of TDS insanity, but the media has to cater to every crazy social media conspiracy theories from its own side, resulting in stuff like this.
Trump COVID-19 treatment: President had stakes in Regeneron and Gilead, makers of antibody cocktail, Remdesivir – USA Today
So the theory here is that President Trump faked a coronavirus diagnosis in the middle of an election campaign so he can boost the stock value of two companies.
Sure, sounds plausible. The only question is how were the urinating Russian prostitute bots involved?
President Donald Trump previously reported he earned capital gains from Regeneron Pharmaceuticals and Gilead Sciences Inc., the manufacturers of two of the medicines he’s taken as part of his COVID-19 treatment plan.
According to a 2017 financial disclosure form filed with the U.S. Office of Government Ethics in June 2017, Trump had a capital gain of $50,001 to $100,000 for Regeneron Pharmaceuticals and $100,001 to $1 million for Gilead Sciences Inc. The form notes the information was of April 15, 2017.
Trump’s subsequent disclosure forms, including his 2020 form signed July 31, did not list Regeneron or Gilead.
To summarize, President Trump had investments in Regeneron and Gilead, now he longer does. So what’s the point of this story? There isn’t one.
USA Today assigned someone to write up a TDS conspiracy theory and that person had just enough ethics to disprove the conspiracy theory in the third graph, without actually coming out and saying, “This is not true.”
The media can’t come out and fact check its own crazy conspiracy theories, it just writes like it’s been taken hostage sometimes.
