The media keeps running stories about how the public is blaming Trump and the GOP for the shutdown. The stories operate under the pretense of journalism when they just consist of the media providing the ‘echo’ in its echo chamber.
Are the polls correct about the public blame? Who knows. The media has a way of producing the polls that have the results it wants.
But where would the public obtain the narrative about whom to blame for the shutdown? From the media. The polling stories are meaningless. They exist only to reinforce the media’s narrative about the shutdown.
1. The media pushes a shutdown narrative whose goal is getting the public to blame the Schumer shutdown on Republicans
2. The media then reports on polls which claim to show the public agrees with the narrative
This is the media’s echo chamber in a nutshell.
