The real lesson of trying to ‘movementize’ grievances over sexual harassment is that every activist, no matter how shrill and misandrist, has a man whose back she will have. And the same defenses that she would reject from other women on behalf of other men, the anecdotal kind, will be deployed.
We saw it with Lena Dunham, Kirsten Gillibrand and Kamala Harris. Now we’re seeing it
with Alyssa Milano and Joe Biden.
“
I am proud to call Joe Biden a friend,” she began in the thread, sharing a photo of the two. “He has been a leader and a champion on fighting violence against women for many years, and I have been fortunate to accompany him to events with survivors where he has listened to their stories, empathized with them, and comforted them.”.
So he’s a politician? .
“
In conclusion, she wrote: “6. I believe that Joe Biden’s intent has never been to make anyone uncomfortable, and that his kind, empathetic leadership is what our country needs. Especially now.”
That’s what it always comes down to. He’s nice to me. So he must be nice. And those other women just misunderstood something.
so much for sisterhood.
Me too always comes down to AllAboutMe
