After Lawrence O’Donnell’s Deutsche Bank/Russia fiasco, you might have thought MSNBC would give him the boot.
Instead of cancelling the Deutsche Bank hoaxter, it canceled Donny Deutsch’s latest show. Though it was really more of a mercy killing.
Fastforwarding to July 13, Deutsch foisted upon his handful of viewers the fear that “fascist stuff is coming” during the Trump presidency and encouraged Democrats to employ scare tactics to win the 2020 election.
And then on July 27, Deutsch and his fellow panelists exploded, calling Trump both a “Christian fascist” and modern day “Hitler” who “wants to be President for life” leading an American version of the pro-apartheid party in South Africa.
Which is, let’s face it, typical MSNBC.
Opining is one thing, but Rachel Maddow, who plays at being a journalism and whom NBC brought in to moderate the Dem debates, suffered no consequences for spending years pushing Russia conspiracy theories, backed by supposed evidence, and O’Donnell sees no consquences either despite humiliating MSNBC, giving Trump a major victory in his struggle with the media, and getting rather close to a test case as to whether anti-Trump smears can be shown to be malicious.
The only real crime at MSNBC involves ratings.
