Unsurprising if true.
The FBI’s Clinton investigation consisted of handing out immunity agreements like candy to Clinton associates in exchange for their “cooperation”. (Even if they were blatantly lying at the time.) And then destroying the evidence. Why shouldn’t Mueller and his allies (who are after all Clinton allies) offer another Clinton ally immunity in exchange for testifying against Manafort?
It makes the double standard a lot more obvious. But the only people objecting are Republicans, so who cares?
Tony Podesta has been offered immunity by Special Counsel Robert Mueller to testify against Paul Manafort, Fox News’ Tucker Carlson reported, citing two unnamed sources.
Podesta is the founder of the Podesta Group and brother of John Podesta, who was chairman of Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign.
The Podesta Group reportedly worked with Manafort – a former chairman of Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign – to lobby on behalf of Ukrainian interests in the United States, without properly registering at the time under the Foreign Agent Registration Act (FARA), Carlson said.
Giving Podesta immunity while keeping Manafort in solitary would make the Mueller coup even more obviously corrupt. But again, the only people who care can’t do anything about it.
Mueller is reportedly handing out 5 immunity agreements.
Mueller made the request in a court filing Tuesday afternoon, which also requests that the identity of the potential witnesses remain under seal.
According to the filing, the potential witnesses have yet to be publicly identified with the ongoing investigation into the Trump campaign’s alleged ties to Russia and the office wishes to shield them from “undue harassment.”
Is anything that Mueller does not under seal? Everything he does is classified, except when it’s leaked to the press.
