Politicians are crooked, politics is corrupt, and most political parties, across the world and history, are terrible.
Voting is not an ideal. The only people who can promise an ideal outcome are tyrants and we all know how that turns out. Voting is how you nudge a political system one way or another.
In 2016, a chunk of the GOP, decided that it was going to turn Never Trumper. By 2020, the Never Trumper field split with some Never Trumpers voting for President Trump, even enthusiastically in some cases, while others were out there campaigning for Biden and then for Senate Democrats.
But that’s human nature. Few people can comfortably occupy a middle ground between two sides. They go one way or another. All in.
It’s why Never Republican inevitably becomes Always Leftist.
It really doesn’t matter which GOP faction is playing the game of boycotting an election because of its principles. We’ve seen this play out before. And we know how it ends.
Principles that lead to leftist power only serve the Left.
And the only people who double down on them are not out for principles, they’re out for power. What they really want, like Bill Kristol and the Never Trumpers, or their current Never Republican incarnation, is to be the power brokers, and to be able to hold everything hostage until they get cut in.
For the “principles”.
“The answer to the Democrat voter fraud is not to stay at home – that’s what Pelosi and Schumer want you to do. If you want revenge on the Democrats for their efforts to steal the Presidential election, where we are fighting hard, you have to show up and vote in RECORD numbers!” President Trump tweeted.
That’s the obvious. But in the social media matrix, the obvious stops being obvious sometimes.
Never Republican is Always Leftist.
You don’t win by losing. You win by winning. Anyone who promises that letting the Left win is a good thing isn’t actually trying to stop the Left. That’s what we saw with the Never Trumpers. It’s what we’ll see here.
