I warned that whatever came after Mayor Lori Lightfoot was going to be much worse. And it’s happening.
Mayor-Elect Brandon Johnson, the democratic choice of Democrat Party ballot harvesters and the Cook County Cemetery Voters Association is making it clear once again that he stands with criminals and against victims.
Here’s what happened.
On Saturday, crowds estimated by various sources in the hundreds up to thousands descended on the Millennium Park, which bars those under 21 after a certain hour. Instead, the teens smashed cars and jumped up and down on trapped vehicles, with police having to escort tourists back to their hotels in the area.
Chicago police said two teens,16 and 17 years old, were wounded by a gunman in the crowd.
One woman told Fox 32 her husband was attacked and beaten after a group of teens jumped up and down on the couple’s windshield. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Mayor-Elect Brandon Johnson issued his own statement.
“In no way do I condone the destructive activity we saw in the Loop and lakefront this weekend. It is unacceptable and has no place in our city. However, it is not constructive to demonize youth who have otherwise been starved of opportunities in their own communities.”
Starved of opportunities? Who starved them? Of what opportunities?
The Chicago Tribune’s editorial board blasted the woke leftist pro-crime politician.
Johnson’s condemnation of violence felt like an obligatory preamble hoping to ward off criticism. The statement’s real rhetorical energy came only at the end: Johnson and his fledgling transition team apparently saw the weekend violence downtown as a chance to offer a sociological admonishment to those who were frightened.
No criticizing the kids, the mayor-elect says, even if you ran hard and fast at the sound of gunshots or decided to check out of your Loop hotel early, eat the bill and take your next spring break in a city other than Chicago.
Mr. Mayor-elect, this is not going to work.
For starters, Chicagoans were not “demonizing youth” but reacting to criminal behavior. Everyone of all ages should be able to enjoy a warm weekend in Chicago. That hardly means standing by as a bus is set on fire.
If hardened journalists feel unsafe in downtown Chicago, let alone tourists, that’s a serious issue.
If the husband of “a woman whose car was smashed by people jumping on the windshield” was beaten as he sat behind the wheel, as the woman reported, that’s a serious issue.
The editorial board is right and irrelevant. As long as the leftist network of mega-donors and ballot harvesters continue to operate, combined with identity politics bloc voting, what sane people want is irrelevant in large blue cities and counties. Brandon Johnson is a police defunder. Voters knew that going in. So did the Left which put him into office. Get ready to spend years hearing how criminals are the victims of systemic racism.
They were starved of opportunities by evil, racist, sexist, Oprah Winfrey. She went to Chicago saw these black savages, the most dangerous ones black males, and said “Hell no, I’m going to South Africa to start my Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls”.

Long-winded theory:
I spent a long time trying to figure out an accurate classification of men. Animal, Human, Spiritual were obvious. But the 4th category turned out to be demons, when humans go below the level of animals. It isn’t accurate to say the left is trying to turn the youth into animals, animals are just following their evolutionary programming, foraging for food, etc.
Man is the rational animal, that is his nature, but rationality is a constant, never-ending, CHOICE. All man has to do to become evil is to refuse to think, refuse to reason. If life is his choice then he must also choose to think, to reason, in every sphere of his life, constantly, logically, with no contradictions.

I found some video on this mostly peaceful teen night out. A few white kids in the crowd, who’s parents need to beat them with their fist. The rest are the usual suspects.

I’m lost here. Chicago wanted to get rid of the incompetent Lightfoot for numerous reasons including high crime rates. So they vote and elect someone who is even more incompetent, softer on crime and an outspoken racist?
Either two things happened. The people in Chicago are even stupider than in NYC, Portland, CA, or there was fraud in the election process. Which one?
I vote for stupidity. And if you look at a chart of committed crimes in Chicago, and compare it to a map of where Johnson got the most votes, you’ll see a high degree of correspondence between high crime and highest level of votes for Johnson. There is one area of non-correspondence, however. The highly white and leftist areas of the city also voted for Johnson in large proportions.

So, if it wasn’t any fraud to help him then what does it take for people to hit rock bottom and wake up? It’s really hard to believe people can’t see the destruction Democrats cause on them. It’s like the Stockholm Syndrome.

Chicago has been famous for their election fraud since Kennedy, at least, but it’s undoubtedly both stupidity and fraud.
I’m thinking those liberal areas have a large number of teachers and LGBTQ “activists.”

This Mayor’s statement to not vilify the youth just validates their behavior. He should be sending a message to their “Parent”, or in a very few cases “Parents”, that they are failing their children. Children don’t grow up to be well adjusted adults by happenstance. It all starts in the home, If the Parent or Parents don’t instill some semblance of civilized behavior in them this is what they do. Only parental involvement can change this dynamic. It all starts at home. In the meantime, most public official’s statements, such as this Mayor only serves to patronize these thugs and allows them to continue their thuggish behavior ad nauseam. If this Mayor and his dem accomplices gave a damn about public safety they would impose a citywide curfew for teenagers from dusk to dawn and arrest any that violate it.
At some point, the major cities will turn into ghostly ghettos.
Prior to the election Johnson told a BLM related group that black people should not be subject to “state-sponsored policing.” So there’s that.
There’s a video of a white woman who looks to be in her late 50s to late 60s, being mobbed and beaten at the door to her home during this riot. I couldn’t watch it because it had “adult content,” and required a twitter login, which I’m still holding out on getting, because they’re still holding conservatives to standards they don’t hold leftists to. But the stills I saw had “Yay We Get Active.” stamped on them. They know better than to “get active” in the Hispanic neighborhoods.

What are the odds that we could electronically shackle people to their under 18 years old children and charge parents for the crimes of their kids? Make it a term of early release from prison and parole and anyone who doesn’t control his ‘wilding’ brat gets ‘rolled-up’ and sent back to jail. My underlying theory is that lax parenting and, especially, fatherlessness is a culprit here.

No one needs to demonize these thugs…they are doing it quite nicely all by themselves. What was missing (but sorely needed) was for law enforcement to wade it with nightsticks and rubber bullets to give the little bastards a real night to remember (hopefully including a night in the ER.) This bullsh!t will never end peacefully, when all they know is violence. We haven’t had a race problem in decades, but we presently have a problem race (and it goes almost all the way to the top).

Brandon Johnson said he does not condone the violence in a way that condones the violence. He added to the legacy of the name Brandon by providing another target for “Let’s go Brandon.” Hey, Brandon, it is 8 pm, do you know where your Johnson is?
Over half a century ago I went through Basic Training in a company half of whom were Chicago boys.
One guy was released from Joliet four days before his twenty-sixth birthday, so could enjoy induction. Now that’s patriotism.
And these were men of purpose. They had goals. They were going to make something of themselves.
