In July 2010, NASA chief Charles Bolden, an Obama appointee, told Al Jazeera that his boss had given him three priorities… none of them involving space exploration. The foremost priority for the agency once tasked with sending a man to the moon was “to reach out to the Muslim world… to help them feel good about their historic contribution to science, math, and engineering.”
How many of you remember Obama’s “Muslim List”?
The Muslim list included two alternative candidates for NASA administrator. One of them, Dr. Charles Elachi of JPL was dismissed as “possibly Christian.” Indeed Elachi, who grew up admiring John Wayne and believes that American success is possible because it isn’t “held back by the long-standing, ingrained systems and beliefs found in the Middle East” would have been a rather poor fit.
The other name on the list however is Firouz Naderi, an Iranian board member of the Public Affairs Alliance of Iranian Americans which advocated in support of the Iran nuke sellout.
While Trump threw out some of this stuff, under Biden NASA is fully woke and going where no one has gone before or ever wanted to go before.
Victor Glover, the black mission pilot, who had been working on Senator John McCain’s staff when he was selected as a NASA astronaut candidate, is preparing for his mission by listening to Gil Scott-Heron’s racist rant ‘Whitey on the Moon’ “twice a week on the way to work.”
NASA has a team that will update everything for the lunatic’s “current genders, names and pronouns” (which may or may not change on a biweekly basis) and then deploy a “workplace gender transition plan” that is only a little less complicated than the original moon landings.

I don’t know how old you are but I’m 59 and I remember how those early Astronauts were regarded as heroes and superstars. They were like rock stars without the drugs and overdoses, and old people didn’t call them stinky hippies. My parents let me and my year younger brother stay up past our “bedtimes” and watch the first moon landing. I was pretty slack jawed with awe. July 20th, 1969 was just a day before my fifth birthday. Both my brother and me dressed as Astronauts on Halloween that year.

Hello Jeff, I am replying to your reply to my reply below. If that makes sense. Just to say thanks. So you are 59. How young that sounds… I am past my sell-by date under the Threescore Years and Ten Rule. So I too remember the excitement of the moon landing, how exciting and impressive it all was. And, yes, why we are required to denigrate the achievements of others if they are not of a currently approved – “uber” – group, I do not know. I can’t take one iota of credit for the technology and bravery that got us to the moon. But I can and do admire it.
Yes, the denigration of people based on race is always degenerate and I believe the first moon landing was humanity’s greatest achievement. I’m so glad I got to see it live and I still remember how patriotic and proud I felt. And awed, of course. Armstrong, Aldrin and Collins had a ground crew for time delayed radio support but really, they flew up there by the seats of their pants and still succeeded.
I notice NASA can’t get to the moon now even though telemetry, micro-chips, positioning systems, computers and so much more technology makes the tech of 1969 seem 19th century in comparison.

I have a completely different thought to share with you. I too watched the moon landing as it was being near-real-time broadcast. Awe and amazement and pride and powerful team spirit really truely were bursting from my chest. In reminiscing I can still feel it. At the time I was an A&P hangar/line aircraft mechanic at O’Hara Field in the Chicago area.
Here’s the strange thought that has captured me: in this current day and age of technology, few would have tuned into the broadcast as it was such grainy, black and white imagery as to have made it uninteresting by 2024 standards. At least uninteresting to the modern GameBoy graphics players of today.
Hope I’m totally wrong and that it’s my twisted ego powering that kind of thinking.
Regardless of all other thoughts of any other type or origin, the early astronauts were from a level of “merit” that will long be unrivaled.

Hoo-boy! A little history lesson for you: once Julius Caesar was assassinated (44 B.C.), there was no return of the Roman Republic and no real freedom. This occurred 356 years before 312 A.D. and obviously before the birth of Christ, so it’s ridiculous to blame Christ for the loss of Roman freedom. Of course, we might date the fall of the Republic earlier than 44 B.C., but that doesn’t help Nixey’s case any.

We already have contributions from Arabs. One is called Algebra and another is called triginometry. They also used the base 10 value system and the concept of zero before Europe did. Even the symbols we use as numbers were Arabic. We also got the calculation of pie from them. They also made contributions to medical science later utilized by Western Civilization. There are many others, as well.
Those were taken from the Indians and the Greeks. And used by the Arabs for Astrology.
