Every Republican villain will one day live long enough to be a lefty hero.
I can’t wait for twenty years from now when the media is fondly remembering Trump while denouncing its latest conservative hate target. And meanwhile the media is cynically exploiting McCain’s death to bash Trump.
New York Times: As a Nation Mourns McCain, Trump Is Conspicuously Absent
Also consciously absent is the Times’ historical memory. This was the paper that turned down a McCain op-ed during the election. (But not one from Islamic terrorists.) And called McCain’s campaign appalling.
“Senator John McCain and Gov. Sarah Palin have been running one of the most appalling campaigns we can remember,” the Tuesday editorial said. “They have gone far beyond the usual fare of quotes taken out of context and distortions of an opponent’s record — into the dark territory of race-baiting and xenophobia. Senator Barack Obama has taken some cheap shots at Mr. McCain, but there is no comparison.”
And the media seems to have less interest in calling out attacks on McCain from the left at outlets like Vox and Teen Vogue. Because their outrage is feigned. They’re just exploiting McCain’s death to score political points.
