The Democrats took over both houses of New York State’s legislature. That means it’s now a rubber stamp for the most insane lefty ideas. Its latest insane $175 billion budget banned plastic bags and freed most criminals from having to pay bail.
Now the trainwreck lurches on with a proposal to violate taxpayer privacy in order to… get Trump.
The bill, slated to be introduced this week, would allow the commissioner of the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance to release any state return requested by three U.S. congressional committee’s leaders for a “specific and legitimate legislative purpose,” according to the Times.
State Sen. Brad Hoylman (D), who is sponsoring the bill, called it “a safety valve for any attempt by the White House to block the Congress from doing this at the federal level,” telling the Times “we’re creating a parallel track.”
New York laws currently prohibit the release of most private tax information. Under the bill, these laws would be amended, covering filings such as personal income taxes, real estate transfer taxes and corporation taxes, according to the Times.
Albany lawmakers have introduced similar measures before, but legislators have raised concerns about the release of personal tax information.
So the Dem legislation will violate the privacy of taxpayers purely for Dem political purposes. The partisan agenda is even built into the, “specific and legitimate legislative purpose” wording.
When Republicans take back the House and request the tax returns of a Democrat politician, the Democrat commissioner of the Department of Taxation and Finance will suddenly discover that it’s not a “legitimate legislative purpose,”
This is how the Democrats are corrupting the political system with partisan agendas and justifying it all in pursuit of Trump. The more they demonize President Trump, the more they can justify any abuse of power.
