aWhat happens when a media outlet loses all of its standards and is capable of nothing except putting out lefty clickbait with less regard for the facts than MSNBC on a slow Sunday.
Newsweek began by pushing the fake news that there was some equivalence between the devastating Notre Dame fire and a minor non-event at the Al Aqsa Mosque, a site built on an occupied Jewish holy site.
This was the story of the Al Aqsa fire.
The Fire broke out in the guard’s room outside the roof of the Marwani Prayer Hall,” according to the Wafa news agency. The fire was quickly put out by the Waqf with no injuries or interior damage reported.
Since its fake news took off, Newsweek is doubling down with an editorial, “NOTRE DAME AND AL-AQSA FIRES GIVE CHRISTIANS AND MUSLIMS A CHANCE TO WORK TOGETHER TO REPAIR THEIR SACRED SPACES | OPINION”.
This is bizarre nonsense. Newsweek keeps trying to equate the un-equatable. There’s nothing to “rebuild” at Al Aqsa.
“No news outlets have reported any damage to al-Aqsa, which was built on the Temple Mount, known as Haram esh-Sharif to Muslims.”
Then what is the point of any of this?
The fire at al-Aqsa ignites feelings among Muslims that are similar to the feelings of Christians who watched the inferno at Notre Dame Cathedral. Both of these holy sites capture the diversity of both Christianity and Islam as well as the good and the bad of our common humanity.
What diversity is there in Islam? How are the feelings of Muslims watching a minor fire that did no damage comparable to Catholics watching the destruction of Notre Dame?
