It’s hard keeping up with the Joneses. It’s even harder keeping up with the media’s weird double standards on anti-Semitism.
The New York Times piece on the Women’s March is one example. This Newsweek writeup is another.
“LEBRON JAMES POSTS ‘JEWISH MONEY’ SELFIE WITH 21 SAVAGE RAP LYRICS, ANGERING CONSERVATIVE CRITICS”
It’s hard to remember when Newsweek used to be a semi-serious publication. But then again this kind of article, in which undefined social media trending outrage and debate stands in for an actual story, has long since become ubiquitous.
Are conservatives the only ones offended by anti-Semitism?
According to Newsweek, yes.
Except the only person whom Benjamin Fearnow quotes being offended is, “Sports Business reporter Darren Rovell posted a screenshot of James’ social media picture and caption and challenged his followers to “go find a Jew and read this to them. Any one – Adam Silver, Dan Gilbert, David Stern – then tell me how they reacted and come back to me,” he tweeted Sunday morning.”
I doubt Darren Rovell is a conservative. He is apparently Jewish. Or at least got married in a Jewish wedding.
But at this point it’s natural for lefties to conflate Jews who object to lefty anti-Semitism with conservatives.
