The ACLU and the Biden administration are on a fast track to normalize the transgender agenda, and this spells big trouble for the future.
Unless this trend is met with the most fanatical form of Viva La Resistance, every child in the near future will choose his or her gender the same way that they now shop for Lego models. This means that in the new world sites like Gender.com for kids may become the “go to” spot for your favorite granddaughter.
The situation is really that bad, and it is getting worse.
The ACLU’s interest in the topic began in 1980 when it established the Transexual Rights Committee. These were the “good” old days when transsexuals were few and far between and generally more believable as people in need of medical help rather than the faddish, cultist–and dangerous–phenomenon it has become today.
1980 was also the time when the transgender movement set about forging links with the larger gay and lesbian civil rights movement, a move that eventually resulted in the transgender takeover of that movement so that it is completely unrecognizable to most “ordinary” gay people today.
The trans lobby likes to say that trans people have existed for centuries, but this is a generalization. So called “Two-Spirit” individuals in various cultures and among Native American populations were integrated among those groups but they were rare. Not all tribes accommodated “Two Spirit” members.
The trans lobby focuses on this rare historical anomaly as a means to exaggerate its occurrence in nature. The trans lobby then created the big lie that goes something like this: because some children like opposite gender curiosities–—the boy who walks for 4 minutes in his mother’s high heels—there must be zillions and zillions of trans children suffering in the closet in desperate need of liberation.
Hands off the children, as they say; but you might as well be talking to a wall.
In the 1990s the trans lobby took on the militancy of the early gay liberation movement. There was one difference. Because so many trans people also seemed to be struggling with some form of mental illness, things got ugly— even demonic—fast.
A fifty-year-old man wanting to become “his own wife” and dress in a housedress is one thing, but lining up children on a mass scale for puberty blocker injections is quite another.
We now see wealthy, leftist donors like Jennifer Pritzker and Jan Stryker giving millions to the ACLU to fight state laws opposed to trans identity.
The growth and acceptance of the dictates of the trans lobby is a phenomenon far worse than the COVID pandemic.
Biden, ever ready to take up a new leftist cause, came out in support of children transitioning during the 2020 election, declaring that “There should be zero discrimination for an 8-year-old child or a 10-year-old child who decides to be transgender.”
Can we take a deep breath and ponder the perverse existential implications of that statement?
Biden, of course, was not blowing smoke through his son’s laptop, but went on to sign a post-inauguration executive order requiring federal agencies to enforce “gender identity” anti-discrimination laws.
The fact that Biden was not called out and condemned for his comments about so called “trans children” is a sad commentary on the culture. Most Democrats, in fact, never knew or “conveniently forgot” that he said such a thing.
That’s because most Democrats are in denial when it comes to the trans issue. Talk to them about it and many get nervously silent the same way they avoid direct conversation about Biden’s cognitive abilities.
A conservative friend of mine related what happened to him when he had a high-ranking Philadelphia Democrat to dinner. Over dessert, the Democrat confessed that he was really bothered about one thing in society “right now,” and that was the universal fixation and fanaticism around gender identity and the use of “crazy” pronouns. When my friend pointed out to him that this phenomenon all “came from the Democrat Party,” the high-ranking official nearly had a meltdown.
“What are you talking about!” he bellowed.
The guest went into complete denial despite the fact that even the blindest among us could easily trace the gender insanity current in society straight to the party of Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi.
In retrospect, perhaps my friend should have reminded his dinner guest that the Biden administration is on record as firmly supporting the notion that “Hormone therapy for minors is lifesaving health care.”
The fact is, this hormone therapy includes the use of a chemical castration drug called medroxyprogesterone, a drug that the ACLU opposed when it was used as a treatment for sex offenders. Today, the ACLU supports the use of medroxyprogesterone as a puberty blocker for minors.
Recent polls suggest that 49% of Democrats support puberty blockers for children while that number dwindles to 12% among Republicans.
But even 12% is a scandal. It should be zero percent. Additionally, one has to wonder where this support is coming from, since children don’t know who they are or what they want: one day it’s dinosaurs, the next day it’s ant farms, the day after it could be pogo sticks.
In an ideal world, society could be made to expand the laws against pedophilia to include the latest form of abuse against children: “forced” gender reassignment protocols from parents whose names would then be placed on a gender abuse offender’s list. (Imagine the symphony of alarms that would go off in communities whenever a Democrat family moved in that had a 6-year-old Tommy who used to be “Tammy.” )
That’s not likely to happen because the trans lobby, the ACLU, the Southern Poverty Law Center, the Human Rights Campaign, and the Biden administration are solidly behind the new transgender world order where the belief is that a child knows better than a parent when it comes to gender.
It’s simply not enough that only 19 states have introduced legislation to ban hormone treatment for minors—with Arizona, Alabama and Tennessee being the only states that have enacted that ban into law. These deplorable numbers show the power of the trans lobby, as well as the willingness of politicians to go along with that lobby’s marching orders.
Arkansas was the first state to enact a ban which prohibits doctors from providing gender-altering hormone treatment and surgery. That ban, however, was recently overturned by a federal appeals court. A three-judge panel of the 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals agreed with another judge’s ruling that temporarily blocked the state from enforcing the 2021 law. A decision is expected in the fall as to whether the law will be permanently blocked.
The ACLU and the Justice Department challenged the Arkansas law, calling it “unconstitutional.”
Arkansas ACLU executive director Holly Dickson waxed poetic when the three-judge panel enacted the ban and stated that “Transgender people deserve the right to live healthy lives without fear and discrimination. It’s time for the Arkansas Legislature to protect trans kids, not target them,” she said.
That, of course, is hogwash.
As writer Brendan O’Neill observed, “There is no such thing as a trans kid. That is an invention of adult activists, confused liberal parents, and cowardly medical and educational establishments.”
Sometimes the truth is that simple.
