When Mayor Eric Adams first took office, I described him as a corrupt clown and the best of a very bad lot of candidates and predicted he would end up indicted. I’m not surprised that he was indicted, but the issue wasn’t corruption. Adams is no more corrupt than the average New York City, Chicago, Detroit, LA, SF, or big city Dem pol, which is to say his kind of corruption is business as usual and there was something else that triggered this.
Adams used to be a Biden proxy. The Biden admin liked the idea of a black big city mayor until Adams broke with it over the open borders illegal alien invasion. New York City was and is overwhelmed by the invaders. Facing staggering expenses and chaos, Adams initially followed the party line and blamed Texas and Florida for busing migrants, but then broke with the White House and blamed the Biden administration.
At that point the relationship fell apart. And this outcome became inevitable.
Is there any evidence of that?
Let’s look at the timeline.
In April/May 2023, Mayor Adams began making pointed comments about the border crisis being a federal problem.
By August 2023, the Biden administration had begun taking shots at Adams.
In November 2023, the federal investigation of Adams went public.
Coincidence? Maybe. But I don’t believe in coincidences in corrupt systems. Like the election timing of this particular takedown which opens the door for a radical leftist takeover of the mayor’s office which will be an even worse version of Bill De Blasio.
The investigation predated some of the raids, but would the FBI have gone as hard after Adams if he hadn’t become a problem for the White House?
Adams is corrupt but his real crime was telling the truth about the open border crisis.

Speaking of corruption as business as usual, that’s true of American politics in general, I noticed that even as a little kid back in the 1950s since there were a lot of politicians and such in my neighborhood. As contrasted with Denmark, with rigorously straight politics and government. Anyway the kind of moderate, benevolent American corruption back then wasn’t so bad, maybe even beneficial since the official rules were so absurd. It was only when the corrupt ones got too greedy and blatant that the public got aroused against them.

The Democrats are tone deaf when it comes to corruption among their own and ruthless when it comes to punishing one of their own who strayed from his or her lane. Mayor Adams objected to migrants being sent here, but those original objections when the Gov. of Texas was sending them faded into oblivion when the U.S. government began shipping migrants here. He has found many facilities for the illegals and ignored demonstrations by various groups of citizens. He is on board with illegal migration to the USA and the arrival of those migrants in New York City.

If Adams is not convicted before January when a new president is in office, his case will be interrupted. US attorneys offer resignations to a new president, who decides to retain or replace them. The US attorneys in New York has been against Trump and likely to not be retained, despite the timing of this indictment to show that they are willing to prosecute Democrats.
Given the absolute corruption of the NY bar, the judges, and the prosecutors in NYC, I would bet that Adams has been offered up as a temporary sacrificial lamb to show the world that NY is fair and balanced.
It’s sham and a scam. Adams just needs to play along until after the election, when the Merchan Trump Sentencing will rear its ugly head again. Then Adams will pay a small fine, refundable of course, and go back to being Hizzhonor.

Paul Pelosi, the husband of Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), sold between $500,000 and $1 million worth of Visa stock, according to public records, just weeks before the Justice Department launched a lawsuit against the credit card company on Tuesday.
The finding raises concerns that many members of Congress trade stocks based on information unavailable to the public.
Seventy-six percent of voters believe congressional members and their spouses have an “unfair advantage” in trading stocks.
Paul Pelosi traded the stock before the DOJ launched a probe into Visa for allegedly monopolizing the debit card market, Bloomberg reported.
