After the 2016 election, Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama issued statements committing to a peaceful transfer of power. But we know that what they were really doing was launching Russiagate. So while the current statements urging everyone to respect the results of the election may seem heartening, they’re press releases, not actual policy statements.
But parse them and they reveal interesting things.
Obama’s statement has a curious turn of phrase in which he states that the economy “created headwinds for democratic incumbents around the world, and last night showed that America is not immune.”
Like a lot of Obama’s writing (which feels like a shallow person’s idea of a deep thinker), it’s easy to scan it without thinking about it because it reads like a tedious column in The Atlantic or The New Yorker which has nothing to say and takes too many words arranged in formulaic phrasing to say it.
But “democratic incumbents around the world” should raise a few red flags.
Democrats, to Obama, are not just a party, they’re a global movement. Leftist parties are, small d, democratic and they’re up against, obviously anti-democratic parties, like the Republicans in America, and conservative parties in Europe and elsewhere.
What is a non-democratic party? A totalitarian one.
Can one truly have a peaceful transfer of power to a totalitarian party? Obviously not. They must be resister. American leftists are part of an international ‘democratic’ movement united to stop Republicans, conservatives, and Trump.
Paranoia? That’s what the Obama-Biden administration did last time around. Why wouldn’t history repeat itself?

Yes, you’ve described Obama perfectly; someone who thinks he is brilliant because that is what he has always been told. In reality, he is a stellar example of the so-called Dunning Kruger Effect, or perhaps an illustration of the person who has risen beyond his capacities, as was so well described in “The Peter Principle.” Obama had most certainly been promoted beyond his level of competence even as a Senator, let alone President. He possesses, at best, a mid-level intellect combined with a true believer’s ideological bent. And bent it truly is, for he sees the country that awarded him the highest office in the land as one that denies opportunity to people based on their skin color or genitalia. And now, like every other ideologue who sees his perfect little world crumble in the face of reality, he fails to introspect and instead, simply castigates those whose actions have so disappointed him. I can’t help but be reminded of the last days of der Fuhrer, as he observed the approach of the Russians from the East and the other Allies from the West, and instead of realizing that his entire Reich had been built on lies, blamed the German people for not being worthy of his leadership and actually wished for the destruction of the nation and people he had earlier claimed to be the “Master Race.” So it is always with such megalamaniacs. You reminded me of a movie I saw way back when, “Something of Value” about two men on opposite sides during the Mau Mau rebellion. Good flick.
There was an old Rock Hudson movie about the Mau Mau rebellion. I saw it on TV as a repeat. It was pretty gruesome and terrifying if I remember correctly. I think it had Sidney Poitier in it, too. (I grew up in Southern California and we had seven TV channels down there. Near Hollwood, you know. I saw all kinds of old movies and Star Trek repeats.) Those Mau Mau guys were murdering everybody in sight. That movie actually scared my mother. I think it was that movie where a guy had his head impaled against a wall in a bar or restaurant. Or maybe it was that Rod Taylor and Jim Brown movie “Dark of the Sun” about natives going wild in the Congo. I remember thinking “boy am I glad I don’t live in Africa.”
That was it with Rock and Sidney, 1957, about the time I saw it.

There were some good books about mercenaries in Africa also. It was a good genre, should have had more books and movies in that genre.
The part I liked best was how the bad guys shoot. They didn’t have any concept of aiming, so they just shot wildly, as if shooting had some magical effect. One can still see some street criminals in USA shooting that way.
There’s a really good “graphic novel” (basically a big comic book) named “Executive Outcomes” about mercenaries in Sierra Leone based on a true story. Boy is it good. You should read it. I found it at the big MLK Jr library at San Jose State University, of all places. It showed that those African despots are NOT stupid but European lefties are.
And you HAVE to watch “The Siege of Jadotville” set during the Congo crisis in 1961. It’s a true story about these Irish Army guys who fight off forces which should’ve overwhelmed them. They were so outgunned and outmanned it wasn’t even funny but spoiler alert: they won. Those Irish. When it comes to drinking and fighting……Great acting and great story. It’s still on Netflix. I just checked. If you don’t have Netflix, you need to get it. It’s so cheap it’s almost free.
“The Pale Blue Eye” is a good movie on Nutflix, too. Say what you will about Christian Bale (I read he has a temper problem on sets) but he’s a good actor and the co-protagonist of the movie is Edgar Allan Poe! The kid who plays him is great. He’s the same actor who played the legless and armless stumpy guy in “The Ballad of Buster Scruggs,” which is also still available on Nutflix.

I heard on some program that Gov. Shapiro clinked glasses with one of his supporters after hearing Trump won (and Kamala lost) because it gives him, Shapiro, a shot at 2028.
For that to happen, there has to be a reason for people not to vote for Vance. So Vance needs to keep his guard up whether he plans to run or not.
In any event, Shapiro may have already begun his bid to become the next President and it’s likely Obama will be out there pushing for him or some other Dem. Watch what they say.

Looking at that idea from a distance, I find it unlikely anyone will vote for Shapiro. I’m probably in a very small minority but here’s why:
I read some comments somewhere from someone who is a deranged antisemite, but he brought something intriguing to my attention: virtually every head of US government department is ‘Jewish’. Mayorkas, Blinken, Yellen, Garland, Zeints, Jared Bernstein, Richard Levine etc.
Most ‘Jews’ are in the democrat party. .Black people who voted for Trump do not necessarily like Jews or support Israel. Since October 7 th the Democratic Party has become a Jew hating cess-pit. Did Shapiro ever stand up for Israel? No, he kept quiet because power is all he’s interested in. Even Richie Torres and John Fetterman spoke out and neither of them are Jewish. So I don’t see anyone supporting Shapiro for president, because he can’t be trusted, either by Jews or non-Jews.
Heres a tip. Being of Jewish descent is different from being a supporter of the Jewish people, observing Jewish faith and/or customs and culture and having Torah based morality.

We have checks and balances on our system (to include the Electoral College, which the left hates) so as to maintain freedom, but no such checks and balances exist on democracies. They always descend into mob-rule. They always fret about “protecting our democracy” so as to condition everyone’s mind to think that’s the type of government that we have, which would make it easier to get rid of the Electoral College (allowing us to be ruled by whatever the voters of lefty California and New York want.
