Who would have thought that Harris all this time, over the last three and a half years, was not really an incumbent, but instead simply a fresh new and relatively unknown face (“Forward!”)?
Did anyone know that the “newcomer” Harris always has been a pro-Israel hawk, a pro-defense budget hawk, a crime fighterhawk, and (along with Tim Walz) a China hawk? And even an Iran hawk, no less?
(Did Harris simply ask her staff to find the 10 most important issues in the polls, and then find Trump’s positions on them, and then simply appropriate his?)
But her most shameless moment was her transmogrification into a border hawk—this from the co-architect of a destroyed border that has let in 10-million illegal aliens who have wrecked the budgets of dozens of big cities and who are complicit in the importation of fentanyl that kills 100,000 Americans and have fueled a violent crime wave.
Apparently, we, the people, whom Harris thinks are clueless, stupid, and amnesiac, must never ask her,
“When have you ever before said or supported such things?
And why did you not say or do such things when you were the second most powerful person in the United States over the last four years?
And since you are currently still Vice President serving a debilitated and vanished President, why not do all of these things right now—given you have almost six months left on your term?”
And who, contra Harris’s allegations, would have ever thought that Trump was responsible for Putin invading Ukraine when his administration (2017-2020) was the only one in four over twenty years (2004-2024) in which Putin never invaded a foreign country?
So, rarely have we seen such a narcissistic and hypocritical rant as Harris’s acceptance speech.
She, like most of the convention’s speakers, introduced herself to us with the anticipated victim “story” and “journey” (as if no one else in America has had a uniquely challenging story and uniquely good parents). (And haven’t we been told almost every detail of the Harris story previously by her sister, by her husband, and by herself?)
She lectured us on the dangers of Trump who, she lied, supposedly sent an “armed mob” to the Capitol (not a single one of the hundreds arrested in the Capitol was found to be carrying a firearm). In truth, Trump had no relationship with Project 2025 as she alleged.
Then she claimed that Trump tried to bail out/release these supposedly dangerous rioters—this from the rebel rouser who tweeted out appeals to bail out immediately violent rioters arrested in the looting and arson of Minneapolis, May 2020.
Talk about incitement!
All this comes from the firebrand who shouted on national television that the already violent rioters in Washington DC should not stop (“They’re not going to stop, and everyone, beware. Because they’re not going to stop. They’re not going to stop before election day in November, and they are not going to stop after election day. And everyone should take note of that on both levels.”).
As for our future, she said nothing about her previous support for “snatching” patents, her mandatory buybacks of guns, her prior opposition to fracking, abolishing ICE, single-payer only government health care, price controls, fining corporations over gender equity, raising corporate tax rates, a wealth tax, a tax on unearned gains, and packing the court.
What happened to those once vibrant advocacies?
As for abortion, Donald Trump was pilloried in the primaries by conservatives for being too liberal on the issue.
He always said leave it up to the states in accordance with Roe vs. Wade; no ban on abortion in instances of rape and incest; but a ban on late-term, partial-birth abortions in which a baby’s life is ended as it enters the world. He has never supported a national abortion ban, nor copied Project 2025’s abortion views.
Finally, I think we might wish to adjust this nonstop euphemistic mantra of “reproductive rights”.
No one is suggesting that women do not have absolute freedom to “reproduce” and be “reproductive”.
Instead, abortion is about “de-productive rights”, or the argument over ending a life and even a life that is often self-sustaining apart from the mother’s womb.
In a nation with a 1.6 and falling fertility rate, over a million abortions performed in 2023, an ethos of childlessness, and laws that let the people of each state vote on abortion, it seems Democratic “weird” to keep fixating on and calling endemic, unbridled de-production as dangerous restrictions on reproduction.
Harris might be more convincing if she at least changed the shovel she has long been using. It might make someone think what she is now shoveling is different in content.
The question we will soon get an answer to is: Are there enough informed, non-brainwashed, free-thinking Americans left or have we become such an idiocracy that despite all of the things VDH points out, the zombies will pull the lever for the commie? I put my money on the latter and pray I’m wrong.
I suspect you’re right, we have indeed become an “idiocracy”. Just based on empirical evidence, there are very large groups of people who would vote for Harris/Walz for purely ideological reasons: a woman, she’s black, she’s a Liberal/Progressive, she hates Trump, and she’s a Democrat (not all Dems are “liberal/progressives). Some on the Left have lost any sense of real issues facing the country, and just vote Dem because ALL republicans are bad. And clueless young people have been brainwashed with the usual leftist tripe regarding capitalism, white supremacy, homophobia, abortion, and bigotry. Critical thinking is vestigial. Moreover, the election fraud techniques will no doubt be employed to gain an additional advantage (mail in ballots), and the “October Surprise” is yet to be revealed. While Trump’s appeal is widespread, there are probably enough “sheeple” (Michael Savage) to push the election to Harris, the proverbial “Ham Sandwich”.
Unfortunately it doesn’t matter. 2016 was a fluke. It was rigged just like every election in the last 30 years, they just underestimated Trump’s appeal and didn’t rig it well enough. 2020 was proof that the establishment has learned. And they got away with it, so they won’t even pretend that elections are fair anymore. I predict that this will be the year we see more votes cast than there are voters to cast them.
The real question is can the rest of us overcome the fraud, the same fraud they used in 2020 and also in 2022.
I think the jury is back on that one. In June Harris had the lowest favorablity rating of any Vice President since they’ve been keeping track. Then Joe is defenestrated by The Party, its media start giving her a 24/7 30 (day) tongue bath and all of a sudden a majority of the American people view her as the latest shiny thing who arrived on planet earth fully former with no.prior history just a few weeks ago and want her for their President. What are you going to do with such a stupid, gullible, superficial electorate?
Wow, Sarah. So well put. My husband and I have similar discussions at the dinner table. I cannot for the life of me understand why so many people don’t see it. I know some of the obvious reasons such as propaganda, brainwashing, Trump derangement syndrome, and just plain laziness, But at the end of the day, how could they be so blind. I have to step away from all of this periodically to maintain my sanity.
She’s like the Wizard of Oz, all voice and no substance in the end. Or, from the same film, the Wicked Witch of the West (and that evil cackle gives her away.)
As far as governing ability, she has no substance. Unfortunately, as far as philosophy, principles, and agenda, she has a lot of ‘substance’, all from the land of Mordor.

Kamala, I noticed the SILENCE when you spouted some of your talking points: “Trump is going to arrest all of his political opponents and put them in jail.” SILENCE…. WHY? Because even the BRAINWASHED CULT knew you, Joe, Garland, were doing just that to ALL your political opponents.
Joe mentioned, “BLOODBATH” in his speech… SILENCE. The CULT knew that FJB was only repeating what he heard on every newscast in the United States. (Our three local TV channels, “Trump said that if he loses, ‘IT’S GOING TO BE A BLOODBATH!’ CUT CUT!”) There were others when the CULT was silent.
SILENCE IS GOLDEN! I also bet you get a cheek massage when you get in the limo because a person that smiles that much, has to be hurting after hours of showing your FANGED TEETH!

However you define democracy in the future the USA will still be the global leader. With 6 months to go before the election the traditional political moves are being ignored. Why? Politics has become a farce. A pantomime. I think the political parties and the individuals we see in the news are the media connection and nothing more. I believe the decisions are made by smarter people further up the ladder and behind the scenes. In the past people have said that the US election was won by whichever party spent the most money. Essentially the presidency went to the highest bidder. I think that’s changed. I think America now say’s ‘Here I am, who can afford me’. The jewel in the crown of freedom is becoming very expensive. Then again I’m just a wetback so what do I know.
It is not smartest. but not stupid either. Its the most corrupt evil and maybe the richest.

Trump’s position on abortion has morphed; I now consider him to be pro-choice. It is exceedingly disappointing to see him pandering to the wretched hordes that do not believe that tearing an unborn baby apart is evil. Using the deceptive, insidious euphemism, ‘reproductive rights’, which is a ‘whitewash’ of murdering an unborn child, by Trump, is beyond revolting.
I’ll still vote for Trump, but with much less enthusiasm and expectation.
