“An SDS radical once wrote, ‘The issue is never the issue. The issue is always the revolution.’ In other words the cause – whether inner city blacks or women – is never the real cause, but only an occasion to advance the real cause which is the accumulation of power to make the revolution,” David Horowitz famously wrote.
Here at a protest is the illustration of that principle in its most literal form.
Political activist and Baptist pastor Rev. Jesse Jackson and the Rainbow PUSH coalition led the march throughout the city with calls for the Department of Justice to investigate the verdict, according to CBS Chicago.
“The only solution is communist revolution,” the crowd is heard chanting.
“That’s right, we need communism. That’s what we need. We need that! We need that, sister, we need that very much,” a female demonstrator said.
No real surprise here. Jesse Jackson’s Communist backing is old history, but history never really goes away.
In the January 1984 edition of the Communist Party USA (CPUSA) publication Political Affairs, Kevin Mercadel—a Harlem-based organizer for the New York Communist Party—said: “Our ’84 electoral activity began with the formation of the Rainbow Coalition in Harlem in support of Jesse Jackson’s campaign for the presidency.” Such support, added Mercadel, “was expected of us.”
So obviously those guys are going to show up. Are they there over Rittenhouse? As much as any of the lefties who come to every rally.
The issue is always the revolution. A Communist revolution.
