During the Obama administration, there were criticisms that it was leading from behind. The Biden administration has blown past that and devolved into “leading from behind the enemy”.
What’s the plan for stopping the Houthis from blockading the Red Sea?
Team Biden has escalated to “taking the problem seriously” with some air strikes carried out for show. And beyond that?
Pentagon Deputy Press Secretary Sabrina Singh said, “It’s really up to the Houthis for when they decide to stop their attacks.”
There’s no plan to win here and that means turning over the initiative to Iran and its proxies. Singh is just artlessly saying it out loud.
The Biden administration thinks of military action as a kind of gesture. Something you put in the effort to signal. Another diplomatic form of pressure. And then you wait until the other side does what they’re supposed to do.
They’re doing their part with occasional strikes. Now it’s up to the Houthis to see things their way.
Q: Hey, Sabrina. Is it now fair to say that the U.S. is at war in Yemen? And secondly, there are some reports about a U.S. MQ-9 being shot down over Iraq by Iranian-backed militia. Is that something you’re tracking?
MS. SINGH: Thanks, Idrees. And to your — I’ll take the second — the last one first. I have seen those reports. I don’t have anything for you on that, so I’d have to circle back with you. I just, I’ve seen those reports, but don’t have anything to add.
In terms of your first question, no, we don’t seek war. We don’t think that we are at war. We don’t want to see a regional war. The Houthis are the ones that continue to launch cruise missiles, antiship missiles at innocent mariners, at commercial vessels that are just transiting an area that sees, you know, 10 to 15 percent of world’s commerce.
The U.S. is — what we are doing with our partners is self-defense. We certainly don’t want to see this widen out to a regional war and we don’t want to see this continue, which is why you have seen the action that we’ve taken. And as the secretary has stated before, we will continue to take that action if we to.
Wars end when you acknowledge and set out to win them. This is what happens when you don’t.

Cluelessness about Muslim strategy.

And national security generally.

And when the houthis expand their attacks to within the US, will Singh still continue her double-speak?

Whenever I hear “circle back” I assume the person is lying, avoiding, or poorly informed and very leftwing. Perhaps that is unfair of me but there it is….

This is what it looks like when Vietnam war protesters get older and take control of a government. They’ve never read ‘The Art of War’. Never attended a war college. Most consider military service something for the poor and feeble-minded and military interdiction as something a country does when it has ran out of ideas. Passive resistance is paramount.
It actually says a lot about them, both to us and our enemies.

Muslim terrorists are suicidal. On must never forget this when fighting them.
They don’t care about their own survival.
They must be confronted with maximum force and eliminated with extreme prejudice.
The source of all terrorism, islam itself must be openly stated by the media and government officials. The free speech is the key to winning the war on muslim terrorists. It enables the whole world to learn the facts and the truth about evils of islam. That’s how people’s hearts and minds will be won.

Psaki-cirling back!! Amazing what passes for intelligence in the biden bunglers’ regime!!
How do EFFECTIVELY deal with the “pirates” aka TERRORISTS?? DECISIVELY!! You send wave after wave after wave of cruise missiles, stealth bombers, and SANCTIONS! You take out their infrastructure! You DEMOLISH their ports, their airports, and the terrorist bases. All this should be a deliberate and PLANNED strategy with sufficient INTELLIGENCE already done to know WHERE and WHEN the “leaders” are so THEY can be eliminated! You don’t play around with this crud – the only thing they understand is POWER! Oh, they’re kind of fond of VIOLENCE too!
Maybe John Kerry and James Taylor can whiz over there and do some kumbaya stuff with them! OH – no, just make The Kamala the Houthi CZAR!!

I wonder what is really going on. There is an interesting trail but some of the benches are confusing. Remember the obama opening up with the iranians? Why? I imagine he is sunni not shi a. The plane full of cash comes to mind. What was he buying? Was there a hamas connection then? We knew the iranians were passing money through to hamas by the back door and the UN. Why did bribe’m, I mean the obama, start sending released money again a couple of years ago? The drones are iranian. I wonder where they got the tech? Did money also go to the nuke program? The houthis have been bombed by saudi for years. Why the restart of the harassment now?
All this said, a cruiser division could pull up 15 miles off shore and be done with the dump in a couple of days. Why not?

Read between the lines. The entire purpose of the question was to get the FJB admin on record that we aren’t at war with Yemen. It’s a case of the media doing the heavy lifting of getting the narrative out without actually getting their hands dirty.

Well, it could be over when we destroy their ability to interfere with shipping but I guess that never occurred to the administration.
