[Order David Horowitz’s new book, America Betrayed, HERE.]
With Pride Month kicking off next weekend, we can look forward to a cavalcade of media reports about parades, commemorations and similar events. Given these expectations, a little context is in order.
According to United States Courts, the official website of the national federal court system, Pride Month is one of six, month-long observances in the U.S., referred to as Heritage Months. There are heritage months for people whose familial ancestry is of Asian and Pacific, American Indian, and Latino and Hispanic origin. There are also months set aside for examining the history of women and blacks in America.
These observances highlight the accomplishments of people of particular ethnic and racial backgrounds, or their sex. While much of the American story involves men who happened to have been white, it’s wrong to ignore the myriad contributions of others. Our history is replete with achievements by (among very many others) Amelia Earhart and Admiral Grace Hopper; the Tuskegee Airmen and George Washington Carver; Roberto Clemente and Dr. Ellen Ochoa; Daniel Inouye and Jenson Huang; Powhatan and Sacagawea; and countless others who made their mark on America.
Then there’s Pride Month. Rather than emphasizing the contributions of groups with defined and immutable characteristics, this observance is predicated on private behavior and opinion. Nobody gets to choose what race or ethnicity or sex they are but we do choose our personal behavior, which is foundational to Pride Month.
Regardless of which letter of the alphabet one applies to one’s self, it connotes a particular behavior. One cannot proclaim L, G, B, T, or Q status without acknowledging the behavior that defines it. Some argue that homosexuality is an innate characteristic but science has not proved or disproved that theory, and transgender ideology claims that variations of sexuality are fluid, so the jury is out on that matter.
Much of Pride Month involves how and with whomone chooses to copulate. Lesbians, gay men and bi-sexual people engage in specific sexual behavior which is a prerequisite for inclusion in one of these subsets of the population. With transgender ideology, a person’s behavior of pretending to be something they’re not is combined with their individual feelings. This is not a judgment, merely a factual observation.
Dedicating a month to the personal conduct of a small percentage of people diminishes the perseverance and achievements of Americans who contributed marvelously to history and helped make America great. Observances focused on women, blacks, Hispanics, Asians and Indians celebrate accomplishments, not sexual preferences.
But Pride Month is different. Consider this June 1, 2023 compendium of “25 LGBTQ+ people who changed the course of history.” It’s grossly irresponsible to promote speculation that Leonardo Da Vinci, Julius Cesar, Alexander the Great, Isaac Newton and others might have had sex with other men. Even if any of this were accurate, there is no achievement in such behavior. Suggestions about their sex lives, while giving short shrift to their accomplishments, is insulting to them.
Poet Emily Dickinson and painter Frida Kahlo might have had sex with other women but who cares? Conversely, there may be some value in teaching about artist Lili Elbe, thought to be among the first men to undergo elective surgery in pursuit of altering his body. Complications from this ‘gender affirming’ mutilation in the early 1930s killed him.
Andy Warhol and Gore Vidal were tremendous artists with lasting impact, and they happened to be gay. Okay, fine. Hopefully, people will be more interested in their contributions to art and literature than their sex partners. Oscar Wilde and Alan Turing, the British author/playwright and mathematician/code breaker respectively, were criminally prosecuted for their homosexuality. But putting victimhood aside, their contributions to the literary arts and defeating Nazi Germany are monumental. It’s also good that Great Britain stopped prosecuting men for being gay nearly 60 years ago.
It can be argued that providing role models for young people confused about their sexuality might be helpful. But perhaps it would be more effective in a personalized manner rather than subjecting hundreds of millions of Americans, with no need of inspiration to feel good about their sexuality, to a month of gratuitous and, frankly, boring parades and presentations on how blues singer Billie Holiday might have had sex with women in prison while separated from one of her three husbands.
Of course gay men and other non-heterosexuals have made their mark on America. I’m reminded of one of my favorite composers, Aaron Copeland. Whether he was gay is inconsequential compared to his compositions like Appalachian Spring, Fanfare For the Common Man, and so many other soaring masterpieces. Instead, Pride Month is better recognized for bizarre costumery and public displays of lewd behavior, cheapening achievement and offering praise not for what we accomplish but for sexual mannerisms. It’s become a 30-day insult to American excellence, gay and straight.

It’s a 30-Day Insult to American Morality!
And it fulfills one of the “Communist Goals For Takeover Of America”:
26. Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as “normal, natural, healthy.”

We shouldn’t have special months for women and various ethnicities, either. Let them be recognized for achievement, in a sex- and color-blind way. Doing otherwise smacks of participation trophies.

They can take their stupid Pride Month and stick it put their A** along with Kwanza and the United Nations to
Ron Kelmell says
Perverted sexuality brings an avalanche of really bad consequences, the least of which are STDs. On the other hand, the Judaeo Christian ethic makes a person bullet proof to the extent it is followed.

I thought we were done with this Pride Month crap after it crashed and burned last year. When are these companies and institutions going learn that 95% of Americans don’t want this garbage thrown in their faces.
An article in Western Journal details how the Navy Seals have gone woke and are now celebrating pride month. How does one camoflage themselves with that crap hanging their uniforms?
And in the middle of it all there is also Juneteenth….yet another phony woke holiday catering to communists.
I try to ignore all of it as best I can. The pro football team in my city has just gone off the deep end with this “pride” crap. I’m sure at some point we will see rainbow helmets and jerseys. Remember all of the breast cancer awareness pink gear that they finally got rid of after 10 years of shoving that down our throats. Did it make breast cancer go away?

The achievements of any great individuals are diminished by binding them to sex, race, ethnicity or sexual orientation and gender identity. Was Amelia Earhart a great aviator or a great female aviator? Was George Wahington Carver (who may also have been gay) a prodigious inventor and orator or a black inventor and orator? Bruce Jenner was a great Olympic athlete. His life since then (vehicular manslaughter, marrying into the Kardashian clan, castration and mutilation and emergence as “Caitlyn Jenner” and an abortive campaign for governor of California) doesn’t obviate his earlier accomplishments,
If June were also “Islamic American History Month” (does such an observance exists?- if not, it’s coming, probably on Biden’s watch) we could see the celebration of LGBTQIA+ pride combined with celebrating Omar Mateen, who perpetrated the Pulse Massacre at a gay club in Orlando after the iman at his mosque told a television interviewer “homosexuals must be killed”

HAPPY STRAIGHT PRIDE MONTH! When’s our Parade?
Here in Albuquerque, an annual Pride Parade with perverts, things proudly hanging out, our Mayor and Governor proudly wearing her pink Vagina knitted hat, with barriers on every street, cops at some intersections and all major intersections, and at the end, MAJOR TRASH all over the route requiring the main drag to be closed for the rest of the day and night. WAIT… aren’t these the same people who rant about cleaning up Mother Earth?
THEN, the route ended for years at our State Fair Grounds till last year. The REASON: Cars were parked inside a horse track, many buildings, so they had to hire a HAZMAT CREW to pick up all the condoms in the lot, behind buildings, and bathrooms and its stalls. A major F-Fest! “What’s your name again?”
ALL PAID FOR BY THE CITY! I’m sure he’d pay for a Straight Pride Parade! The Mayor also spent $35,000 to paint rainbow-colored crossing stripes at a major intersection. A few weeks later, a man on a motorcycle marked the stripes while burning his tires on it. ARRESTED… HATE CRIME! I don’t know the final verdict.
The same Mayor, whose wife studied in Cuba and Nicaragua having to prove she wasn’t a spy or a counter-revolutionary and proving she was a COMMUNIST, gave stand down orders to the BLM mobs to trash our downtown where they broke all the store front windows requiring the owners to put plywood. They also tried to rip an ATM out of a wall, FBI investigation, no arrests even with all the cameras. A year later, some artists painted art on the plywood. A year later, the same mayor gave the businesses $150,000 to pay for windows. (Also, the wife now has a major job at our SANDIA LABS so how in the hell did she pass the FBI background check?)
CHANGING COLUMBUS DAY to Indigenous People’s Day started here, now national, by a real COMMUNIST GROUP by their own mission statement. Also, pro-Hamas. Click here: THEREDNATION.ORG It’s all the same members of ANSWER and The Party for Socialism and Liberation!

The people who shout loudest about the pride they have in what they are inevitably are the most ashamed.

“….transgender ideology claims that variations of sexuality are fluid, so the jury is out on that matter.”
Huh? Good article but author falls into the may or could or might be camp that gives the crazy people credibity and hurts the cause of sanity. The jury is never out with common sense unless author believes that trans BS is valid in the norm.
Steve says
Transgender surgery makes sense if you also believed that someone who identifies as blind should have his eyes put out, or who identifies an an amputee should have healthy limbs removed.
Peter Rousseau says
We should not celebrate anything regarding same sex interactions. Rather we should be critical of perversion wherever it arises and call it out as such. The reason that cops raided New York gay bars was because of the behaviors going on inside these places which were/are a threat to public health. It should have never stopped happening. They should have been forced to curtail their secret dalliances using glory holes etc and been forced to carry on in other less public places. As we are finding out, once the genie is out of the bottle it is very difficult to get them back inside the bottle. Anyone defining themselves by their sexual preferences is mentally ill and the medical organizations should have never taken homosexuality out of the realm of pathological behaviors. So much for the wisdom of our medical community. Foolish humans.
George says
The jury is not out on this. Homosexuality is immoral and a sin. Where have you been for the 50,000 years?
Jerry says
Give these people a DAY, and I won’t say a word about it. A month, and I’m so grossed out by the end that they’ll never get my support.
Richard says
Sin of Pride Month..

Remove the “C” from YMCA. There is NOTHING Christian about this organization.
Yes. I am a member (man).
But if tomorrow I want to pretend I am a woman. They will allow me to use the ladies locker room.

And it difficult to find a gym that wont. I had one such interaction and I wont go back. I was unharmed but it was very creepy. So, no gym for me.
Andrew Blackadder says
30 days to celebrate homosexuality but just one day to celebrate the men that fought and died for the right for homosexuals to have a 30 day celebration.
Most of the men that died in these various military conflichts were European American Heterosexual Males, many of whom are sleeping on a Sidewalk today from Sea to Shining Sea.
