That didn’t take long. The Mayor-elect of Chicago, Brandon Johnson, responded to a group of teenagers who attacked cars and assaulted drivers in the Loop last weekend by what sounds like justification for their behavior. While saying he does not “condone the destructive activity” (there’s a euphemism) and that it “has no place in Chicago” (when it increasingly does), Johnson added, “it is not constructive to demonize youth who have otherwise been starved of opportunities in their own communities.”
The second part of his statement nullifies the first.
Two teens were shot during the incident. Fifteen teens were arrested.
I am betting there are other teenagers in those “starved communities” who don’t behave the way some of their peers did. Besides, with Democratic mayors running Chicago for as long as anyone can remember (the last Republican mayor left office in 1931 and Illinois hasn’t voted Republican in a presidential race since George W. Bush won in 1988), which party should be blamed for the lack of nourishment?
To watch the video is to see what anarchy looks like. In the chaos, reportedly organized on social media, teens can be seen jumping on top of a bus while others start a massive brawl. A Tesla, said to be worth $120,000, was vandalized. Johnson says he won’t commit to hiring more cops.
From New York City, where District Attorney Alvin Bragg won’t prosecute certain crimes and reduces some felonies to misdemeanors, to San Francisco and Los Angeles where the streets resemble a flop house, America seems to be coming apart at the seams. No wonder China’s leaders see us in decline. There is ample evidence to support their view, from massive debt to the abandonment of moral guardrails in favor of a “do your own thing” mentality.
The weekly shootings and murders in Chicago have become so routine that it rarely makes national news. Newsweek noted: “The number of homicides in Chicago hit a 25-year high in 2021 with more than 800, according to the Chicago Police Department. That number decreased to 695 last year but is still far higher than when (outgoing Mayor Lori) Lightfoot took office in 2019. Crimes including carjackings and robberies have also increased in recent years.”
The cure to lawlessness is not to indulge the lawbreakers by justifying or seeking to explain their behavior. It is to enforce the law. Doing so serves to tell others there are consequences for illegal behavior and justice will be swift and certain. Without law enforcement there is no glue that can hold a city or a society together. Hundreds of Chicago police officers have left the force and the city is having trouble recruiting replacements. Is it any wonder with the “defund the police” movement and growing disrespect for those who feel called to protect and serve?
What we easily tolerate we get more of and what we strongly oppose we get less of. When lawless behavior is tolerated and leaders who are supposed to keep neighborhoods safe effectively see lawbreakers as depraved because they are deprived, to quote lyrics from “West Side Story,” it is a virtual guarantee that some will run wild. As the Proverb says: “Where there is no vision the people cast off restraint.” (Proverbs 29:18)
Chicago voters are largely to blame for the mess in their city. They keep electing leaders like Brandon Johnson and Lori Lightfoot. Do they expect different outcomes?

I am a former native Chicagoan . There is NO WAY Brandon Johnson won the recent mayoral election over Vallas, a white retired school administrator with a pro-cop, tough on crime platform. Johnson won by 13,000 votes. It stinks to high heaven. And it sure looks like a stolen election to me.
The 2020 election fraud has its roots in South Side Chicago, where, “coincidentally,” Barack Obama cut his political teeth. It was there he became an adherent of Saul Alinsky, married the super white-hater, Michelle ( you didn’t know that?), attended Reverend White’s so-called “church,” and started the Soros-backed, get-out-the-vote ACORN which was shut down due to various illegalities.
Three weeks before the 2022 midterms, polls were showing a Republican landslide. Yet, Mr. Cool Obama wasn’t the slightest bit worried, remarking that not-to-worry, that “Democrats know how to get out the vote.” I’ll say.
You forget a much earlier instance of “the Chicago Way” rigging an election. I was a kid when it happened but I do remember the reports on the TeeVee set (back when
the nightly news WAS) that good ol faithful catholic squeaky clean John Fitzgerald ennedy had several thousand dead people voting for him in Chicago’s preconcts.
He later had ALL his votes cancelled by another rotten politcal hack. Sorry, a 6.5 iCarcano bolt gun CANNOT FIRE three or four rounds from two radically different directions. I’ve not seen the “gennegshin” between Oswald and Johnson but I’ve no doubt whatever it is there, somewhere.
AS long as blacks justify and excuse criminal behavior, and worst of all blaming it on others, the crime problem will get worse, much worse, as evidenced by what we all see now.
The only solution to crime problem is hard punishment. It’s a proven fact. By not allowing the LEO to do their job, and by letting the criminals go by leftists in the justice system it is also evidenced that the criminal behavior is being promoted.
The main question is to ask why? and the only reasonable answer is that the criminals are united in taking over the government and destroying America from within. But they didn’t come up with this plot on their own. The foreign enemies are behind it all. The islamists to be exact.

Not just Chicago, but look at NYC, or Memphis, or Baltimore, or St. Louis, or D.C., or New Orleans or Los Angeles or Portland or Seattle or name any Democrat controlled city. We can see hundreds of documented cases of criminals released because of Democrat “no bail” laws committing additional crimes up to and including rape and murder. We can watch dozens of videos showing gangs of thugs looting jewelry stores and liquor stores and Department stores and even convenience stores. In California if you steal under $950 worth of merchandise then it’s just a misdemeanor, so crooks are stealing with almost no fear of being apprehended and businesses are closing.
The Democrats are causing this with their “no bail” and defund the police policies and Soros backed prosecutors that pander to criminals and don’t give a damn about their victims. Policies induced by the openly Marxist, anti-Christian, anti-family race baiters of BLM and supported by the President and all of the Democrats. It’s stupidity beyond belief and will only get worse as police recruiting has tanked and they are taking early retirements and leaving in record numbers. Unless this is stopped and these policies reversed to start caring more about victims than criminals; our cities will continue to descend into third world crime ridden hell holes.
Years ago I heard a police officer say, “If I arrest you, you go to jail, if I arrest
you twice you go to the hospital and then to jail, a third time you go to the
river”. Things change as attitudes become weaker and weaker. Fear of what
you could be in for has always stopped considerable criminal activity.
Today life is dangerous, there must be a very strong push back to the
continuous vile activity so many look on as their fun time while sneering
to what is right and good. Violence begets violence, dark days ahead,
pray for peace and a return to orderly living, evil should not be a lifestyle.

This is good news!!!! WHEN did San Francisco and Los Angeles imoroive so much? Must have missed that announcement.
I’ve nevere been IN a flop house, but from reports of others NO ONE in any of them would tolerate what lines the streets daily in those chump-zones.
Here is a sure fire solution to the increase of rioters attacking occupied vehicles, flipping them, hauling their occupants out, setting them on fire hijacking them.
Some states, (and I know California used to be one of them maybe still is, since I don;t go there any more I don’t bother to j keep track) allow the use of lethal force against anyone entering or attempting to enter an occupied vehicle. Wheh a mob surronds a car when someone is inside it, and are beating on, shaking it, pounding it with bricks and rocks, a safe assumption would be that the occupants are in immediate and grave danger of death or great podily injury.
Strengthen state laws to make certin the bar is low enough to include riot and civil disturbance when the perps are aggressively blocking, hitting, shaking, appearing to attemt to make entry, such that occupants of a vehicle under such attacks are free to respond with lethal forct.
When half a dozen rioters over a period of a month or two get shot in such situations, they’ll maybe make informed decisions to forgo such activity. Heck, the mere act of deliberately interfering with a vehicles lawful passage should be grounds for the introduction of lethal forct. HO many instances have there been when someone was stopped by the mob, dragged out of their car, and killed or nearly so?
Such conduct would quickly end if that were a likely response under law.
