The British Jewish community has spent the better part of two years protesting British Labour boss Jeremy Corbyn. Major figures across the political spectrum, both Jewish and non-Jewish, have protested Corbyn’s tolerance and promotion of anti-Semitism within Labour.
This is, by no stretch of the imagination, a “right-wing” or even exclusively Jewish thing, unless you consider J.K. Rowling either one.
Into this atmosphere, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez, who already has spent far too much time hanging out with anti-Semites while wrongly trying to appropriate Jewish identity, has stepped into it. Some of her radical anti-Israel associates, like the notorious Julia Salazar, have gone even further.
But she decided to go directly to the source.
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D., N.Y.) on Sunday said it was an “honor to share such a lovely and wide-reaching conversation” with U.K. Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn about their common cause to take on billionaires, polluters, and “migrant baiters.”
Corbyn, who has a history of making anti-Semitic remarks, tweeted that it was “Great to speak to @AOC on the phone this evening and hear first hand how she’s challenging the status quo.”
As with the Women’s March, the Left ignores anti-Semitism from within its own ranks, whitewashes it and repeatedly allies with it.
The DSA has been a particular repeat offender, playing foosie with anti-Semitic lefty movement in Europe even worse than Corbyn’s Labour. The Left has made Ocasio Cortez into its poster girl. American Jews need to consider the consequences of the Corbynization of the Democrats.
