One thing about the rise of the ‘squad’ is that they’ve sucked the oxygen out of the room from the older generation of House lefties some of whom were a lot crazier.

Freakshows like Alan Grayson are no longer around, but the more mediocre class of horrible lefties are, and they’re unhappy about not getting the attention they deserve. How do you are out-AOC her royal trollness?

Rep. Bill Pascrell has an answer.

Today I’m calling on House leaders to refuse to seat any Members trying to overturn the election and make donald trump an unelected dictator. Section 3 of the 14th Amendment was written after the Civil War to bar from government any traitors who would seek to destroy the Union. My letter to House leadership today demands that 126 Republicans (and counting) are violating the Constitution. The text of the 14th Amendment expressly forbids Members of Congress from engaging in rebellion against the United States. Trying to overturn a democratic election and install a dictator seems like a pretty clear example of that.

It goes without saying that this isn’t the definition of treason. Not in America. 

But Bill ‘Hamas Pascrell would know something about treason.

Rep. Bill Pascrell and Senator Corzine, both Democrats of New Jersey, addressed an annual “community brunch” last month co-sponsored by 11 Muslim organizations, including a mosque that has allegedly raised funds for Hamas and another New Jersey mosque whose former imam was convicted last year for smuggling more than a half-million dollars to an Egyptian group that the American Treasury Department subsequently designated a terrorist organization. Mr. Pascrell has also received campaign contributions and fund-raising support from the president of the event’s primary sponsor.

Mr. Pascrell said that allegations that any of the co-sponsors of the event are radical Islamists or tied to terrorist organizations are “pure crap.” Asked if he felt that by appearing at the event he was lending legitimacy to radical organizations, he added, “I’m not going to deal in rumors; the rest is crap. I know these men as fine family men.”

A spokesman for Mr. Pascrell later clarified that the congressman wasn’t referring to Alaa Al-Sadawi, the former imam at El Tawheed Islamic Center, who was convicted last July of attempting to smuggle more than $650,000 in cash to the Global Relief Fund in Egypt in April 2002.The U.S. Treasury Department designated that fund as terrorist in October 2002.

Pascrell is a leading congressional ally of CAIR, which has established roots in the Islamic Association for Palestine (IAP), an organization found to be a front group for Hamas. Prosecutors designated CAIR an unindicted co-conspirator in prosecuting senior officials with the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development (HLF). CAIR was designated because of its associations with the U.S. Muslim Brotherhood’s Palestine Committee.

In March 2007, Pascrell created a stir after he reserved a conference room in the U.S. Capitol for a CAIR panel discussion entitled “Global Attitudes on Islam-West Relations: U.S. Policy Implications.” The panel included Steven Kull, director of the Program on International Policy Attitudes, who analyzed polls on relations between Muslims and the West, and CAIR Executive Director Nihad Awad.

Pascrell spokesman Caley Gray said the forum “opens up an important dialogue about global public opinion concerning the United States.”

“We see it as a simple room request,” said Gray. “We did receive a room request and evaluated it and approved it.”

Not everyone on Capitol Hill regarded it as an ordinary request. “It does happen all the time, but usually it is the United Way or some constituent group or Mothers Against Drunk Driving, not a group with supposed ties to terrorism – in the Capitol no less,” a Hill staffer said at the time.

In 2008, Pascrell defended controversial New York City subway ads promoting Islam financed by the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA). The ads featured phrases like “Head Scarf?” and “Prophet Muhammad?” on one side, with the words “You deserve to know” and “WhysIam.org” on the other.

Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y., cited the high-profile role in promoting the ad campaign played by radical Imam Siraj Wahhaj (a former CAIR advisory board member and a frequent speaker at the group’s events) in urging transit officials not to run the ads.

Wahhaj was an unindicted co-conspirator in the 1995 federal trial of Omar Abdel Rahman (AKA “the Blind Sheik”), who was convicted of conspiring to bomb New York landmarks and is serving life in prison.

Pascrell expressed disappointment that “any public official” would oppose the subway advertisements. Wahhaj’s ad campaign “is exactly the kind of dialogue we need,” one that would “bridge the gaps in our collective knowledge,” Pascrell said.

If anyone is a traitor who shouldn’t be seated, it’s Pascrell.
