During the Black Lives Matter race riots, the violence in each city was misleadingly portrayed as a local phenomenon. In reality, the arrested rioters, whether leftists, racists or looters, were often from other areas.
Riot tourism is something that police discuss, but that rarely breaks into the public conversation.
Now that there’s been another way of leftist violence in Atlanta, the perps are predictably out-of-towners.
Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens said Sunday that most of those responsible for the previous night’s violent protest were not from Georgia.
“Most of them traveled into our city to wreak havoc,” Dickens said. “And so, we love to support people when they’re doing right, peaceful protest is a part of our freedoms, but when you are violent, we will make sure that you get held accountable.”
Atlanta Police Chief Darin Schierbaum said Saturday night that six people had been arrested. Late Sunday afternoon, the names of those arrested and their charges were released. The suspects, who ranged in age from 20 to 37 years old, included 20-year-old Graha Evatt of Decatur. The other five were from out of state, according to police.
The others arrested included: Nadja Geier, 24, from Nashville; Madeleine Feola, 22, from Spokane, Washington; Ivan Ferguson, 23, from Nevada; Francis Carrol, 22, from Kennebunkport, Maine; and Emily Murphy, 37, from Grosse Isle, Michigan.
It figures. The profiles here fit those of leftist radicals. Had the FBI done any actual legwork in the attacks on pregnancy clinics by the so-called Jane’s Revenge domestic terror group, they’d find the same profiles, leftists from different areas, meeting and organizing online, likely using Telegram, and traveling around the country.
There are options, especially at the federal level, for tracking travelers. And while stopping people from driving places is more challenging, I suspect we’re dealing with a bunch of rich kids, plenty of whom are flying and probably none of whom end up on No Fly Lists.
I wonder how 2020 would have played out differently if BLM organizers and anyone arrested in the riots and anyone involved in online radical organizing had immediately been added to a No Fly List. The Left would have howled and used workarounds, but I suspect we’d have been in a better place.
It also goes without saying that if the feds were serious, they would have used phone data to capture all the thugs streaming video of their accomplishments.
Like the “Traveling Circus” method in wartime. I was reading recently how France had a “Traveling Circus” of artillery in WW1 that moved from front to front to support whatever the key attack of the moment was.
I’d like to stream my fist or foot into one of those rioters faces. I get enraged when I see them on TV.

You may consider him “unstable,” but he is consistent. Instability implies that one is not. Neither is he “crazy” as he has no delusions that I can detect. He seems, to borrow a modern word that I like, “based.”

Dan, I make no comment about Jeff’s personal life or choices, which I do not know. I would not give weight to what others might tell me about him, either. I judge only by what I read here that is revealed by Mr. Bargholz himself.
What you say may or may not be true. Even if true, I am very slow to judge because I am also a deeply flawed person who has made mistakes and who keeps secrets.
Do any of these miscreants work ? Who bank rolling them ? How are they getting around ? Who’s paying for the thier hotels ?
They’ve mostly got rich parents and the Left has no shortage of money. Usually these people also work at nonprofit activist groups.

Oh, they are serious all right. These thugs are paid mercenaries. The NGO’s and 501c3’s will provide plausible deniability. Once sufficient raw, overwhelming power is achieved, disguising motive will be dropped as as an unnecessary waste.
