Unintentionally hilarious.
Jussie Smollett’s sentencing is coming up and Jesse Jackson as well as fellow celebrities are rallying in support of the hate crime hoax perpetrator.
The Tribune also obtained a letter sent to Linn from actor Samuel L. Jackson and his wife LaTanya, as well as a message from actress Alfre Woodard.
“We watched him grow from a kid who was always kind, full of joy and laughter, into a responsible teenager who on becoming aware of the inequities suffered by some people in life, became an energetic volunteer helping anyone who was working to alleviate these inequities,” the Jacksons wrote. “… Please Judge Linn, in God’s name, please save this young man and allow him to be of service. Jussie Smollett is worth the risk and the investment.”
Woodard called Smollett an “exceptionally kind human being.”
“He has already paid a personal and professional price that few in real power have even for crimes against the health and safety of millions. Through it all, Jussie has stood like the good man I know him to be,” she wrote.
You can always count on conspiracy theories, invocations of equity, and persecution complexes.
Even after all this, the wealthy celebrity is still the victim.
