They don’t teach history in San Francisco anymore. Especially the history of the Civil War. And teaching the Constitution is probably considered a hate crime. And so San Francisco officials are confused that ICE personnel aren’t obeying their secessionist sanctuary state laws.
Local officials were irate Thursday over the arrest by federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents of an individual as he entered a San Francisco courthouse for a hearing in violation of the city’s sanctuary law.
Both the San Francisco Public Defender and the District Attorney condemned the action on the steps of the courthouse on 850 Bryant St., and called on ICE to stop making courthouse arrests. Immigration rights advocates said it was the first time this type of courthouse immigration enforcement has occurred in San Francisco.
“ICE actions in or near our courthouses deters people from accessing our justice system, making us all less safe,” said San Francisco District Attorney Chesa Boudin.
Making us all safe? I don’t believe Kate Steinle could be reached for comment.
That’s coming from the radical Soros man who isn’t enforcing the laws against violent racist thugs like this. Making us all less safe is Boudin’s speciality. The rotten apple doesn’t fall far from the poisonous tree.
“California law explicitly forbids a civil enforcement agency, including ICE, from making a civil arrest without a warrant outside a courthouse,” said San Francisco Public Defender Mano Raju of the Election Day arrest.
I know drugs are legal and all in California, but come on.
I don’t know what pass/fail social justice school produced Raju so as to leave this prominent public official unfamiliar with how federal-state laws work.
California cannot pass a law forbidding a federal agency from operating in the state.
No California law can stop the FBI, the IRS, ICE, or any other federal agency from taking action in California.
As it is, California law is pushing into secessionist territory by penalizing businesses and law enforcement officials who cooperate with the federal government. But even Raju can’t be delusional enough to think that these laws bind the United States government.
The only way for that to work would be for California to secede from the Union.
