Inevitable and hilarious.

Sarah Silverman was the product of 90s comedy where the goal was to demolish whatever remaining taboos existed. The taboos came down and lefties rushed to erect new ones based around political correctness, leaving people like her trapped in a political DMZ. Silverman was never funny. She was just shocking. Now she’s no longer shocking, but has a history of using racial slurs which makes her unemployable.

Sarah Silverman revealed that she was recently fired from a movie over an old photo of her in blackface.

She said the photo, which was snapped on the set of “The Sarah Silverman Show” in 2007, recently resurfaced and caught the eye of the film’s producers.

On the podcast, the comedian, 48, also blasted “cancel culture” and said it has left her feeling scared because no one is given a second chance.

“I think it’s really scary and it’s a very odd thing that it’s invaded the left primarily and the right will mimic it,” adding that she calls it “righteousness porn.”

“It’s like, if you’re not on board, if you say the wrong thing, if you had a tweet once, everyone is, like, throwing the first stone,” she continued. “It’s so odd. It’s a perversion. It’s really, ‘Look how righteous I am and now I’m going to press refresh all day long to see how many likes I get in my righteousness.’”

For the first time in her life, Silverman is actually right. And of course it doesn’t matter.

This is a cultural environment in which most professional comedians learned to avoid college campuses, only to realize that the campus crybullies were soon running programming at Netflix and acting as the gatekeepers for the culture. Millennial comedians are increasingly doing identity politics shtick that affirms their roles as Muslims or LGBT, while castigating conservatives. And Silverman’s peers are quietly cashing in while trying not to be too funny. After trying to go the Daily Show route, she’s discovering that the culture that she and her peers made is toxic.
