Birds gotta fly, fish gotta swim and Senate Dems gotta push amnesty in exchange for false promises of border security. And the more things change, the more they stay the same. So if you were wondering why Dems were being oddly cooperative in supporting the Laken Riley Act, it was only as bait.
A group of 12 Democratic senators, led by Sen. Mark Kelly of Arizona, asked Majority Leader John Thune Wednesday to pursue bipartisan immigration-related legislation instead of the party-line approach Republicans are currently planning for.
“We understand that Senate Republicans have discussed using the budget reconciliation process to advance border security budget measures without any Democratic input,” the senators wrote in the letter. “While that’s your right, in working together on a bipartisan basis, we can achieve the best outcome for the American people.
Most of the Democrats on the letter voted with Republicans to pass the first immigration-related legislation of the Congress, the Laken Riley Act, earlier this week. The House is expected to give the bill final passage later today.
Many of the signees also backed the bipartisan border security bill crafted a year ago by a Senate gang that ultimately failed after now-President Donald Trump opposed it
What would come of “working together on a bipartisan basis”? Same thing as the old ‘bipartisan border security bill’. Every border deal ends in trading amnesty for illegal aliens for more border funding.
Remember when Senate Republicans were telling us this was the best deal we could get?
Speaker Mike Johnson is publicly and privately panning the Senate’s ongoing border and immigration negotiations. Senate Republicans are reminding him that it’s the best deal he’ll ever get.
Republican senators said on Tuesday that they see only worse opportunities ahead to craft a border bill that can pass, given that Democrats who run the Senate and White House are now considering major changes to asylum policy, new expulsion authorities and perhaps even putting limits on presidential parole authority. If Republicans try to wait for a better deal after November’s election, senators say, they could end up with GOP control over Congress and the White House — but Democrats who are in no mood to deal on the issue.
“Stop us before we sell out again.”
Now we’re moving to having the military secure the border, a pause on refugee admissions and refugee resettlement, and deportations. Now the Senate Dems have a “better off” that’s bound to once again be trading border funds, perhaps even some allocated for building a wall, in exchange for amnesty.
Democrats simply can’t miss an opportunity to damage America. They are on the wrong side in every single issue. There’s no negotiating with these people; they’re nuts.
Cooperation with the Dems turned out to be a Con Game, with Repubs as the marks.
“…working together on a bipartisan basis, we can achieve the best outcome for the American people.”
That is Wormtongue. It is the language of war in the guise of peace. Peace requires first and primarily the recognition of friends and enemies, then total war and destruction of the enemy.
Amnesty for all Gun Owners who use Firearms in Self Defense against unconstitutional Gun Control Laws passed by liberal Demon-Rats with their Armed Self Defense
The only time Democrats want “cooperation” is when they are in the minority.
