White lefties insist that they’re crusading to abolish the police because they want to protect black people from not being shot in drive-by shootings. Increasingly black Democrat mayors are calling them out and telling them that they have no idea what they’re talking about and that they’re actually getting black people killed.

First, it was former Mayor Nutter in Philly telling off Soros DA Krasner. 

“We don’t have a crisis of lawlessness. We don’t have a crisis of crime. We don’t have a crisis of violence,” Krasner, newly reelected with a mandate to keep giving criminals a pass, insisted.

That was too much for even Philly’s Democrat establishment.

“It takes a certain audacity of ignorance and white privilege to say that right now,” former Mayor Michael Nutter blasted Krasner, “I have to wonder what kind of messed up world of white wokeness Krasner is living in to have so little regard for human lives lost, many of them Black and brown, while he advances his own national profile as a progressive district attorney.”

“I’d like to ask Krasner: How many more Black and brown people, and others, would have to be gunned down in our streets daily to meet your definition of a ‘crisis?'”

Now, Mayor Breed in San Francisco is telling off Soros DA Boudin and white lefties.

Breed said that her own “experiences of growing up in poverty and growing up in war zones similar to the Tenderloin” informed her decision-making process and took a shot at critics she perceives to be overly ideological.

“I think a lot of people, like some members of the Board [of Supervisors], like Boudin, did not grow up in poverty in San Francisco,” she said. “They did not grow up in these kinds of conditions. They have a theory as to what they believe based on their ideology. But they’re also white. They are not Black people who’ve had these unfortunately traumatizing experiences in communities where there’s not trust with the police, but also there’s a desire to be safe, right? And I’ve worked many of my years of growing up in this community to really turn that around because of the violence. “

The unnamed members of the board she’s referring to are likely Dean Preston and Hillary Ronen. The former voted against Breed’s Tenderloin emergency declaration, while the latter threatened to undo the emergency ordinance if the San Francisco Police Department’s budget increases.

Breed is a terrible mayor, but she’s not wrong. And she’s echoing how most of the black community, that isn’t being financed by the Ford Foundation or other activist groups to hate police, feels about it.

On the topic of Boudin, Breed said she and the district attorney “have different perspectives on things,” and would not say how she plans to vote in the upcoming June recall election.

“Oh, I do know how I’m going to vote,” she said. “But I’m not ready to reveal what I plan to do publicly.”

That’s an interesting and revealing statement in and of itself. What it really means is that Breed wants to recall him, but isn’t going to say so unless she thinks that the recall is likely to succeed.
