It’s San Francisco. And the purge of ousted DA Chesa Boudin’s pro-crime machine is being handled by Mayor London Breed and her allies. The question is why aren’t Republicans doing this kind of thing? I won’t even waste time rehashing all the ‘left-behinds’ during the Trump administration who not only stayed on the job, but were rewarded with promotions, but the sheer rarity of Republicans, state or local, doing this kind of thing after taking office in a properly systematic way.

Especially when it comes to pro-crime politicians. 

This is where Republicans ought to take a lesson from the playbook because Democrats are actually good at this. And in this case they’re even doing the right thing.

After the ouster of Chesa Boudin, Breed and her allies aren’t content to just do what so many Republicans do, which is take a victory lap, issue some meaningless orders, and then go on a speaking tour, they have a plan.

Jenkins responded that she wanted a review of every single case in which a plea offer had been made but not yet accepted by the suspect, and the purpose of this review would be to determine which plea offers to withdraw. 

That is how you start. You immediately do a granular review of what your predecessor was doing with an aim of ending the bleeding as fast as possible.

Then start firing them.

San Francisco’s no-nonsense new district attorney is cleaning house — as she reportedly laid off 15 staffers inherited from her booted, woke predecessor. 

The firings Friday by Brooke Jenkins come nearly two weeks after she was appointed district attorney by Mayor London Breed following the recall of her much-maligned predecessor Chesa Boudin, according to SFGATE.com.

Don’t wait. Fire them fast.
