It’s awkward when things like this happen.
AIDS Activists Demand Kenneth Cole Quit amfAR Over Weinstein Deal – NBC News
The letter takes aim at an arrangement by Cole and Weinstein to split the proceeds of some charity auction items between amfAR and a theater where a show produced by (Harvey) Weinstein had been staged.
Also when things like this happen…
During the early frenetic weeks in March 2020, officials working at testing sites rapidly assembled a system that gave special treatment to people described by staff as “priorities,” “specials,” “inner circle” or “criticals,” according to five people, including three nurses, who described how resources were redirected to serve those close to the governor and other cases that were fast-tracked.
Two individuals said clothing and footwear designer Kenneth Cole, the governor’s brother-in-law, was among those who benefited from priority testing.
Another nurse recounted how staff at the site quickly mobilized to assist fashion designer Cole, who is married to Andrew Cuomo’s sister, Maria, by arranging a priority test and rushing his sample to a state trooper to be driven to Wadsworth.
Kenneth Cole is notorious for garbage products (my pair of Kenneth Cole shoes felt like plastic and fell apart in a month), obnoxious ads, and even more obnoxious activism.
Cole has fundraised for Hillary Clinton, attacked Republicans, and praised Biden, When the media began first running with the sexual harassment charges against Cuomo, Cole came out in support of him.
“@NYGovCuomo led us through COVID-19, bringing us all light when there was only darkness… & has made NY the progressive capital of the world… he stood up for us, now we need to stand up for him. Please RT,” Cole tweeted from his personal Twitter account on Sunday night.
Hey, when you can partner with Harvey Weinstein, what’s a little Cuomo.
Cole’s BLM message was that his company stands for “equality, diversity, inclusion, and when possible, sought to raise awareness for social justice. “
This is what social justice looks like.
