9/11 memorials have become subdued events, in which the focus is grief and remembrance, but with no real desire for action.
And that is what the Left wanted all along. A place that should be a rallying cry for action has instead become a space of emptiness.
The promise of Bush’s bullhorn speech remained largely unrealized. The attacks have been allowed to mostly fade from public conciousness. The Democrats have mainstreamed Islamists on an unprecedented scale. And they, like Rep. Omar, have shown contempt for us. Even on the Republican side, 9/11 Truthers who cover up for the Muslim mass murder of Americans, have been mainstreamed.
These remarks are a powerful rebuttal and reminder that the site is not just a place where we grieve, it’s where we fight back.
A man whose mother is a 9/11 victim ripped Rep. Ilhan Omar for describing the terror attacks as “some people did something” during the annual anniversary ceremony at Ground Zero on Wednesday.
Nicholas Haros Jr., wearing a black T-shirt with the words “Some people did something?,” singled out the congresswoman and the other members of “the Squad” after reading the names of the dead, including his mother’s, Frances Haros, at the ceremony.
Here’s the text of his remarks
NIC HAROS: And my mother, Francis Haros. Good morning, brothers and sisters in good faith. Listen. “Some people did something?” I am here today to honor my 76-year-old mother Francis on the solemn 18th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. Mom, we all miss you and love you very much. This day I also remember over 200 personal friends and co-workers that I knew that died. I remember Virginia Fox, Warren… and Lou…
And I remember your sons and your daughters, your parents and siblings and all first responders. I remember all, I remember them all and pray with you for them today.
“Some people did something,” said a freshman congresswoman from Minnesota, to support and justify the creation of CAIR, [The Council on American-Islamic Relations]. Today I’m here to respond to you exactly who did what to whom.
Madam, objectively speaking, we know who and what was done. There is no uncertainty about that. Why your confusion? On that day 19 Islamic terrorists, members of al Qaeda, killed over 3,000 people and caused billions of dollars of economic damage. Is that clear? But as to whom, I was attacked. Our relatives and friends were attacked. Our constitutional freedoms were attacked, and our nation’s founding on Judeo-Christian principles did. That’s what some people did. Got that now? We’re here today, congresswoman, to tell you who and The Squad, just who did what to whom. Show respect in honoring them. American patriotism in your position demands it. For God and country, amen.
There are, of course, the usual shrieks of, ‘racism’ and ‘intolerance’.
After this, it’s likely that great efforts will be made by the local Dems to keep Haros away from future commemorations. And yet it needed to be said. In a decadent society, the obvious needs to be repeated all the more often. The site needs to be a reminder of what happened.
And why and by whom.
