Woke companies thought that they were drilling a hole in our side of the boat when they endorsed racist mobs and shutting down the police. Little did they understand that they were in the same boat with us.
During the BLM riots, outdoor retailer REI promoted its support for the racist movement.

On Monday, the outdoor fitness retailer REI announced it will close its only remaining store in Portland in February 2024.
The company emailed REI members to explain that the location could no longer guarantee the safety of employees and patrons, the local NBC outlet reported.
“The safety of our employees, members and customers is always our number one priority. In recent years, Portland has been dealing with increased crime in our neighborhood and beyond. Last year, REI Portland had its highest number of break-ins and thefts in two decades, despite actions to provide extra security,” REI said in its email…
Last year on Black Friday, the store was subject to a jaw-dropping theft in which a car was used to break the store’s doors.

REI can just leave. People who actually live in neighborhoods that become dangerous can’t do it just as easily. And they have to stay and live with the consequences of the evil that woke corporations do. Woke corps poison society and then shrug and walk away. That’s wrong.
Well, like the rest of the woke, REI is delusional. Consider this from its statement: “[REI has] worked for years in service of greater equity and inclusion in the outdoors.” Excuse me. Is somebody excluding black people from “inclusion in the outdoors?” How does that work? I’m sure they must have some narrative on why this is true but in reality it’s just another unsupported and unsupportable grievance to add to the collection.

REI is a cooperative. When Democrats steal from the co-op they are directly stealing from the co-op membership.

You’re right AA, bullies always want an easy target. Being ready and willing to fight stops a lot of fights before they start. That and situational awareness, when they know you see them coming, the smarter ones will look elsewhere, elsewhere as in out of your sight.. I can tell you’ve lived in some rough neighborhoods too.
