Sheryl Sandberg’s tired brand of boss feminism expired a few years ago. Much like Hillary Clinton, whom she passionately supported, everyone is sick and tried of the same pseudo-feminism for Fortune 500 seminars that became her brand. And if there was ever a time not to bring it up, this would be it.
But no, it’s time to “lean in”.
Meta Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg has suggested Russia and Ukraine wouldn’t be at war if they were run by women.
“No two countries run by women would ever go to war,” Sandberg told CNBC’s Hadley Gamble in Dubai on Tuesday during a fireside at a Cartier event marking International Women’s Day.
So if a country run by a woman goes to war, it must be the man’s fault.
Sandberg said that, if half the world were run by women, she believes the world would be “safer” and “much more prosperous.”
Is Facebook a better place because Sandberg is its CEO?
Sandberg supported Hillary Clinton who aggressively pushed the Libyan intervention to help her become president. Does Sandberg imagine that America would be less likely to go to war under Hillary?
Hillary, “We Came, We Saw, He Died”, Clinton?
If Sandberg wants to engage in some real feminism, she might want to look at the female athletes who are being marginalized by men in dresses. Instead she’s pushing this Victorian nonsense.
There have been plenty of strong female leaders. And, like Margaret Thatcher, they haven’t shied away from a fight. Others, like Hillary Clinton, start fights for entirely self-serving reasons. Much like men.
There are fundamental differences between men and women, but the world would not be any safer if it were run by one sex over the other.
Countries do things for reasons that transcend the personal impulses of any single leader.
