The Supreme Court nomination gave Biden a pretty clear choice, he could reward Rep. Jim Clyburn, the politician who mobilized the black voters that won him the nomination, and therefore help put him in the White House, or he could reward the Left.
Clyburn lobbied for Judge Michelle Childs. Manchin and a few Republicans got on board. While the Left, including Demand Justice, which had boasted of bullying Justice Breyer off the bench, united around Ketanji Brown Jackson.
Unsurprisingly, Biden picked Ketanji Brown Jackson and chose the Left, which wanted an activist who happened to be black, over his black supporters who wanted someone who was black first.
Once again, the Left proved that it controls Joe Biden and the Biden administration. And that black voters, despite helping put Biden in the White House, will always come in second to the Left.
