Listening to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu speak to the House of Congress on May 24th made me wish we could share him with Israel—as our U.S. president—and leave Obama in Europe where his leftist/socialist internationalist thinking belongs. Netanyahu is a far better friend to America than our president is to Israel.
Prime Minister Netanyahu gets it. He wants peace for all, not the select radical few Obama is enabling. America cannot abandon Israel or make the insane demands Obama is forcing on Israel with his pre-1967 Israeli borderline slap-in-the-face. That stipulation is no different than telling black Americans to return to the pre-Civil Rights Act era, or Ireland to its British Landlord era. Imagine the uproar if Obama were to make those insidious orders. Envision the pandemonium if Benjamin Netanyahu suggested Americans ought to return itself to Great Britain and forgo the Constitution and Amendments? That condition is no different than Obama’s appalling declaration against Israel.
Now who’s the better friend and leader to the free world?
Netanyahu comprehends Israel’s best ally cannot reject the only stable democracy in the Middle East. Don’t assume Obama is oblivious to such facts. He gets it. But, like all leftists, his socialist philosophy rejects Israel’s existence on the grounds that government knows what’s best for all human beings—statist control without Jews having a nation. To push that belief, Obama declared the Arab Spring violence is “an extraordinary thing, ” saying “The people [of these Arab nations] have risen up to demand their basic human rights.”
That’s quite an odd statement to make when Arab Spring is not about basic human rights. Israel is the only nation in the Middle East that promotes liberty and human rights. Israel seeks peace with Arab nations, but those nations do not attempt peace accords with Israel. What is sought is the extermination of Israel and Jews. Thus, when Obama praises Arab Spring as an “extraordinary thing,” he is demonstrating admiration for Muslim Brotherhood supporters and other groups who supported Hitler. Those are not the friendships America wants.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accurately pointed this out by stating:
“Israel has no better friend than America, and America has no better friend than Israel. We stand together to defend democracy. We stand together to advance peace. We stand together to fight terrorism…In an unstable Middle East, Israel is the one anchor of stability. In a region of shifting alliances, Israel is America’s unwavering ally. Israel has always been pro-American. Israel will always be pro-American. My friends, you don’t have to—you don’t need to do nation-building in Israel. We’re already built. You don’t need to export democracy to Israel. We’ve already got it. And you don’t need to send American troops to Israel. We defend ourselves.”
What more can this nation ask for than an ally who proudly declares America as their friend and says they will always support us “unwaveringly,’ because, they are “pro-American.” When was the last time you heard Europe say that? Better yet, can you name a time when Arab nations referred to America in such a way? The reference to America from the Middle East is “Death to America.” You’ll never hear that from Israel.
Netanyahu’s loyalty and patriotism to America is extraordinary. His country does not inhabit violent protesters committing rape and murder. Our nation has no better friend than this man, who stood on our Congressional House Floor recently and swore unconditional friendship to America. Yet, Obama wants this Netanyahu and Israel to go back to a vulnerable borderline that would cause insurmountable bloodshed of Jews. But this coincides with Obama’s leftist beliefs of course. And his convictions grinds against the existence of Israel.
America’s friend Netanyahu is quick to tell us that the destruction of Israel will not happen. Too many people seeking freedom, including persecuted Arabs, look to her existence. Netanyahu affirmed:
“There was a great English writer in the 19th century, George Eliot. It’s a she. That was a pseudonym in those days. George Eliot predicted over a century ago that once established the Jewish state—here’s what she said, ‘The Jewish state will shine like a bright star of freedom amid the despotisms of the East.’ Well, she was right. We have a free press, independent courts, an open economy, rambunctious parliamentary debates… Courageous Arab protesters are now struggling to secure these very same rights for their peoples, for their societies. We’re proud in Israel that over 1 million Arab citizens of Israel have been enjoying these rights for decades. Of the 300 million Arabs in the Middle East and North Africa, only Israel’s Arab citizens enjoy real democratic rights…Of those 300 million Arabs, less than one-half of 1 percent are truly free and they’re all citizens of Israel. This startling fact reveals a basic truth: Israel is not what is wrong with about the Middle East; Israel is what is right about the Middle East. Israel fully supports the desire of Arab peoples in our region to live freely. We long for the day when Israel will be one of many real democracies in the region—in the Middle East.”
Israel is not what is wrong with the Middle East, the Left is. The Left is no more a friend to Israel than Muslim extremists. Both perpetrate all that is iniquitous and unethical with that region—they seek the removal of the status quo for their rule of control. The Left, to which Obama belongs, wants the Arab Spring to rise up and win, take out Israel, and usher in the Muslim Brotherhood. The Left supports Hamas and Hezbollah, not Jews, not Israel, but violence attacking everything that stands for liberty. The ultimate goal is destruction through violent revolutions that will topple everything that supports democracy, capitalism, and order. If this is incorrect, why would Obama call bloodshed an “extraordinary thing?” Because leftists do not seek the liberty and freedom for all that Benjamin Netanyahu describes, rather, they seek a socialist utopia regime, and that cannot be achieved so long as Israel exists and America defends her stance in the Middle East.
If the Left desired freedom and peace, as Netanyahu does, it would never ignore Islam’s vile persecution of innocent human beings. Israel is the only Middle Eastern nation where women and gays—the two groups leftists seemingly adore, but use for self-gain while ignoring Islamic abuse—are not stoned and Christians are not persecuted.
This was exposed by David Horowitz in his latest speech at UCLA:
“The head of the Palestine Authority has said no Jews will be allowed to live in the Palestinian West Bank. But there are more than a million Muslim Arabs who are citizens of Israel with more rights than the Arabs of any Arab state. Israel is the only place in the Middle East where an Arab who is gay can live without fear, and the only place where he can march in a Gay Pride parade. There are 57 Muslim countries but not one in which gays can hold gay pride parade.”
Despite this evidence, Obama wants Israel’s freedom removed and pushed back to a place where it lacked defense for innocent human beings. If Americans don’t question Obama’s hypocrisy, they are forgetting America’s history and struggle for freedom. Ask yourself this: if America has a right to exist freely without monarchy, or any other institution telling us what to do, then what entitlement does any America president have to tell the Prime Minister of Israel that he and his people must give up those exact principles and return to an existence of tyranny?
For Obama to suggest Israel return to her pre-1967 borderlines is the opposition of peace and friendship. In essence it says that due to your race, you have no rights to exist freely. Such a move would immediately place all gays, Arabs living freely and peacefully in Israel, Christians, and women, under a death sentence. Prime Minister Netanyahu understands the reality of pre-1967 Israel borderlines; he has lived the fight for freedom. His nation is a refuge to all who want a life without persecution.
Israel is like America: freedom and liberty to all who want it, that is why Israel is America’s greatest friend and ally and must be supported with equal friendship.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is a better friend to America than our president, who keeps throwing Israel under enemy tanks.
