The one thing you can count on extremists for is ideological backstabbing.
Once again, even as Bernie Sanders campaigns for the nominee, he’s also spreading claims that Biden will lose because he’s too “centrist”.
Sanders, the runner-up to Biden in the Democratic primary, has told associates that Biden is at serious risk of coming up short in the November election if he continues his vaguer, more centrist approach, according to the people, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe sensitive talks.
The senator has identified several specific changes he’d like to see, saying Biden should talk more about health care and about his economic plans, and should campaign more with figures popular among young liberals, such as Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.)…
The obvious agenda here is to disassociate Team Bernie from the candidate it’s backing by claiming that he would have won if he’d run further to the Left.
Is Bernie prepping for 2024? On one level that’s ridiculous, on another level his 2020 run was ridiculous. But Bernie Sanders is the public face of a movement and in 2024, that movement and its backers may find someone more viable than Bernie Sanders. And all Bernie needs to do is make occasional campaign appearances and collect the checks for whatever Sanders Institute grift has been cooked up this time around.
It’s telling that the Left is prepping its narrative for Biden’s defeat. That’s not a vote of confidence.
