After destroying the education of a generation of students and boosting teenage suicide rates so its members could work from home with its school lockdowns, The American Federation of Teachers was understandably lost for a sequel.
How do you top something so selfish and evil?
The answer is to come out for Hamas.
The leftist campaign to demand an end to Israeli attacks on Hamas under the guise of a ceasefire during which, as before, the Islamic terror group will be able to kill Jews, but Israel won’t be allowed to fight back, has scored with leftist unions.
The new narrowly elected DSA socialist leadership at the UAW got the autoworkers union to demand an end to Israeli attacks on Hamas. SEIU’s inclusion on the list was easy enough. And the AFT teachers’ union is among the most leftist unions around. AFT does have more Jewish members than the other unions on the list, but Jews are still very much a minority.
And the AFT is dominated by Randi Weingarten, a leftist anti-Israel activist whose social media feed is packed with wall-to-wall anti-Israel propaganda. Weingarten’s girlfriend, Sharon Kleinbaum, had a rebellion at her ‘temple’ over saying ‘kaddish’ for Hamas.
Weingarten is of Jewish ancestry, but has a history of advocating against Israel and making antisemitic remarks.
She had previously ranted that “American Jews are now part of the ownership class… who now want to take that ladder of opportunity away from those who do not have it” when asked by a Jewish journalist if unions like hers had too much power.
The Weingarten AFT call for a ceasefire is a world-class example of dishonesty even for a proposal that attempts to spin saving Hamas as a peace movement. The resolution claims to be opposed to Hamas, when its purpose is to give Hamas what it wants, and is packed with assorted nonsense about a non-Hamas government that is a fantasy that is impossible without eliminating Hamas.
Randi Weingarten, a world-class sociopathic liar, has managed to produce a document that makes saving Hamas sound like it’s anti-Hamas, and which begins with the premise that Israel has a right to defend itself in order to oppose exactly that thing.
But who else could manage to deprive children of an education for two years so that her colleagues could lay on the beach before phoning in a zoom class and pretend that she was doing it for the children?
Secretary of State Mike Pompeo called Weingarten one of the most dangerous figures around. And her pro-Hamas resolution proves him right.
In the event of successful Leftist revolution, Weingarten will enjoy a high posting complete with dacha, access to exclusive commissary and personal automobile.
Anyone impugning Komrade Weingarten will be disappeared.
Just the thought makes me want to disappear. All of this makes me want to disappear from this country permanently. Its hard to take. .

I was teaching high school in New York City when “Randi” was our head of the UFT. During the second week of school in 1997, one of the teachers came up to me and said, “Communism is over in the Soviet Union, but it’s alive and well in this high school.” A couple of years later in Advanced Placement European History that same teacher spent an entire month teaching the Communist Manifesto. When the students complained to the Dept. Chair, nothing was done. Why? I believe the Chair was sympathetic to his goals although she was not outspoken. Two other teachers openly distributed communist literature to their students from time to time. Although partisan politics is against the Chancellor Rules in NYC, nothing was done. Not all the teachers were as conservative as I, but those who were not communist had some kind of bogus idea that their distribution of communist lit came under “freedom of speech.” How a government school would be free to allow the promotion of values contrary to the values of that government is, until this day, beyond me. I am so grateful to read Mr. Greenfield’s disparagement of Randi W., She is a leader in promoting the left wing extremism and ideological filth of Marxism and its derivative, Cultural Marxism (they don’t insist on a proletariat takeover but simply on a dialectical progress towards government control of every aspect of life in the name of “equality”). What a bogus and presumptuous goal!! Thank you Daniel for focusing in on key issues. The spectrum of your research is nothing short of amazing, but you perennially offer hope to those of us who dream of a surprising move back in the direction of republican freedom which is now in tatters. Weingarten is as bonkers and depraved and psychopathic as Hamas and other Islamic scum.
How so many teachers can vote for her as the head of the teacher’s union is unbelievable.
Most teachers are sheep and are afraid of losing their careers. That is how evil has taken over. People afraid to tell the truth. People are afraid to stand up for American values, the Constitution and the idea of “one nation, under God”. Courage is a rare characteristic. Remember the American Revolution and the courage and tribulations of those heroes who fought for our freedoms which have produced the greatest nation in history.
You don’t need a majority to capture a professional association. The new president of the American Library Association describes herself as a socialist lesbian and openly advocates for “queering the library” and using libraries particularly school libraries to spread socialism. The Association claims more than 50,000 members but she was elected by a little over 5000 or 10%.
Americans are being divided by this administration into strata, and these strata are being Hamas-nazified.

I guess we need to “denazify” the Teachers Unions and TEACHERS! Either get back to teaching the subject matter and being a DECENT person or GET OUT!
Think bigger. Why do we even allow teacher’s unions that can negotiate on pay and benefits? Why do we allow these public employees to decide on curriculum? Why do we allow these unions to strike against the public, including students? Like federal employee unions, teacher’s unions should only be permitted to deal with issues like seniority, teacher discipline and promotions, etc. But never on pecuniary issues or curriculum. Never.
