Kenneth Marcus, who under Trump all too briefly served as Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights at the Department of Ed, calls the move by nine student affinity groups and organizations at Berkeley’s School of Law to ban Jewish speakers to be “Jewish-Free Zones”.
Nine different law student groups at the University of California at Berkeley’s School of Law, my own alma mater, have begun this new academic year by amending bylaws to ensure that they will never invite any speakers that support Israel or Zionism. And these are not groups that represent only a small percentage of the student population. They include Women of Berkeley Law, Asian Pacific American Law Students Association, Middle Eastern and North African Law Students Association, Law Students of African Descent and the Queer Caucus. Berkeley Law’s Dean Erwin Chemerinsky, a progressive Zionist, has observed that he himself would be banned under this standard, as would 90% of his Jewish students.
Tellingly, the rationale for this was the familiar one of safe spaces.
“In the interest of protecting the safety and welfare of Palestinian students on campus,” allies of the anti-Israel accepting its antisemitic rationale, “will not invite speakers that have expressed and continued to hold views or host/sponsor/promote events in support of Zionism, the apartheid state of Israel, and the occupation of Palestine.”
Safe spaces have become judenrein spaces. Much as they’ve become conservative-free, as they’ve purged women who believe in their own existence and anyone un-woke. Safety means total ideological tribalism and eliminating those who disagree.
And the free speech movement at Berkeley has become a no-free speech for Jews movement.
Dean Erwin Chemerinsky, who had previously come out against the entire category of restricting ‘hate speech’, has offered criticisms of the move, but if a dozen organizations had effectively banned black speakers from campus by say adding a code stating that they will only accept black speakers who think that slavery was wonderful, the response would be more than criticism.
This kind of thing is a straightforward case of disparate impact. And disparate impact has been used to sue universities, including Berkeley, before. Any restriction that effectively bars Jewish students from participating in a good deal of student life and restricts their career opportunities is an actual apartheid move that should be met with serious legal actions, not mere words.
Those who know history may remember the ‘Ghetto Benches’ that Jewish students in Polish universities were subjected to before the Holocaust. Nationalist student groups demanded that Jewish students be banished to ‘ghetto benches’. When the administration didn’t give in, they rioted and assaulted Jewish students. Eventually the administrations gave in and ghetto benches became widespread. A few courageous faculty members refused to go along, but most did. It was a preview of the Holocaust which would have as its epicenter not long thereafter the mass murder of Jews in Polish death camps.
History repeats itself.
Yeah, a very odd phenomenon, which I saw and wondered about with my own eyes. Most or all the best profs in my area were Jewish, and the movement to fund Progressive departments at the expense of established STEM departments was just starting. Things really accelerated when there was an influx of Muslims to Berkeley in the early 2000s.

Imagine the left being so provably wrong about the world, that their entire world view is wiped off the table. I am exaggerating somewhat, but their obsession with submitting to violent brown men, and fearing them has led them to outrageous lies. Lies that common people and Jews who do basic searches on the internet can refute.
Who has not heard that non muslims do not have equal rights in muslim nations, including the muslim part of Israel, the left calls palestine? How much of A case does muslim supremacy codified by islamic law, represent A threat for Jews to defend themselves from? Muslims have been attacking Jews, accusing them of wrong think for all of modern history, as well as pre modern history. Is the left serious about making A case that Israel should not treat muslims as insurgents, continuing their attempts to install an authoritarian racist dictatorship?
Are we to ignore the millions of Jewish people who have listened to Robert Spencer, David Wood, Mr Greenfield, and others who have pointed out that non muslims are called dhimi, people who do not have equal rights before sharia law? Why because some radical american leftist, refuse to recognize reality, and get violent if we point it out to them? There are A great many men who do not care if they get violent or not, so shall we allow them to install A fascist dictatorship, in order to avoid saying what most everyone already knows?
Islam has committed way too many terrorist acts, for it to pretend to be the victim of other peoples violent words. Not if you want to actually include the sane people of america, and the majority of the people of Israel. Even if it fooled the left, most white americans are already Trump supporters, the Jews are going to leave america, most of the non whites of america cannot maintain A first world economy. They are not going to get the Trump supporters to adopt the pedophilic agenda. It will be instant, conscious slavery to the billionaire corporations. Even the left has no reason to believe that they will not be betrayed in their quest to oppress, those they accuse of racism, by the old white male billionaires, who are often Jewish.
If you cut off the bank accounts of all Trump supporters, you cut off all of white male america. I don’t really see this one world government succeeding in america or Israel. It has nothing but violence, and oppression. We already have truths that will massively progress the Jewish people of Israel, successfully. They can be exposed to America with ease, and attain A massive bounty of thoughts.
Why turn A sophisticated Jew into A mad dog, ready to attack the muslims when the regime demands? We could have done that thousands of years ago. What benefit is there to turning A Jew into A humble and obedient servant? How does that help the cause against islam? Or help Israel confront the western left? That too, could have been done thousands of years ago.
I may be missing some considerable understanding about who the Jewish people are, how entrenched evil is in their hearts and minds. Or perhaps how power works in the world. But I dont believe either of these criticisms. It seems to me the new world order is not going to be permitted to fly, the forces of evil will be forced to surrender considerable increases in free speech, and then men will grow more blindly hateful and violent, and require being dealt with, and the connection between the rulers and the ruled will be restored. In G-d I trust.
The writing is on the proverbial wall. The Jews, plainly frightened and cowardly, will demonstrate the Stockholm Syndrome. But the Muslims, inasmuch as they loudly applaud themserlves, know to distinguish between their penny-ante successes on US campuses, and their gross failures, stunting impotence, and abject retreat when challenged by the Hebrew Jews in flourishing Israel.

The U.S. supports the people who do not tolerate Israel, while punishing Israel who supports people from all over the world and allows them to live in Israel. This is a formal for disaster, as the way we treat Israel is directly tied to our blessings. Israel is to be admired for her openness, generosity and witness to the nations, but I admit I would rejoice if Israel went all Wolverine upon the Ishmaelite and other haters and expanded its borders to the original biblical grant, and reclaimed the Temple. It would be a beautiful thing.

Nadler is a leftist who hates Israel. Schiff just wants Pelosi’s job and Schumer wants AOC not to run against him. They couldn’t care less. I’ve been in Israel……as a Catholic. And what i found, talking with muslims, Arabs, Druze, Christians… is that they LOVE living in Israel. And especially the palestinians, they would DIE BEFORE GOING to live under abbas and hamas!!! They have good jobs in Israel! A good life!
They are happy! And they suffer just as the others do, when the evil palestinians throw rockets onto Israel and stones and burn the fields. Israel left gaza with all kinds of crops and facilities that were promptly burned and destroyed by hamas… Palestinians have told me that they don’t want to go over there, they want to stay in CIVILIZED Israel where the work and life are good. The names “Judea” and “Samaria” do not apply to the so called “palestinians…….'”. A name that was a distortion from the Roman “philistine” referring to the Philistine people who live in South Canaan and who were certainly NOT evil with their women!.
I’m 55 years old and went to university in the Bay Area. This didn’t start under Obama; he just escalated it. The phenomenon grows and gets more severe in tandem with the growth of Islam in North America. Anyone who doesn’t see the need for deep–like 1924-style–immigration restrictions is suicidally stupid or afflicted with Stockholm Syndrome.

Yeah. I was auditing classes at SFSU while Bazian was in his final year as a grad student. He got his PhD at UC Berkeley– where he’s now an adjunct professor, or whatever. Anyhow, he had the campus under his thumb and Jewish students very much on the run. His success wasn’t due to his being a brilliant orator or organizer as much as he was very energetic and persistent which, when combined with the campus having such radicalized faculty and student body, made him successful. The problem is now so widespread that only a political solution will cure the problem; too late to play whack-a-mole on a case-by-case basis.
