I’m not sure what either party was thinking holding their conventions in Chicago and Milwaukee.
Milwaukee had massive riots and while Mayor Cavalier Johnson has at least tried to work to stop the inevitable mess when the RNC comes to town, it’s gonna get ugly.
Maybe Dems didn’t see major protests coming when they booked Chicago, and maybe they decided that changing their nominee and convention city was too much trouble, but they still walked into this one.
And ugly won’t even be the word.
Best of all, Chicago has a radical leftist mayor who has signed off on crime and supports the Hamas rioters. So the DNC is already prepping for a meltdown.
While the Biden campaign, White House and convention planners have only just started hatching plans, senior Democrats tell me they’re discussing whether to conduct such business before the convention even begins or move it out of the arena and across town to McCormick Place, their other Chicago venue. Serendipitously, Biden’s advisers may have a very good reason to move up such housekeeping: If the Ohio Legislature does not relax its ballot certification deadline, which is before the Democrats’ August convention, the DNC may have no choice but to technically nominate the president before the conclave begins.
Also under consideration for Chicago: reviving the pre-taped delegation roll call from each state featured in 2020. Not only were the clips memorable — who could forget the Rhode Island chef standing on a state beach with a plate of calamari — but a video montage also means one less opportunity for hot mic spontaneity, and therefore disruption, from 50 states and territories worth of delegates.
Why not just do what they did in 2020 and run the whole thing on Zoom? Seemed to work last time.
In anticipation of some protesters obtaining tickets, convention organizers said they’ll stage a war room and be prepared to drown them out with chants — “four more years” is always a standby — and block any banners with Biden-Harris signs.
That’s bound to work in an age where everyone is taping everything. And the rioters will be taping themselves.
There’s already a joke going around Democratic strategist circles that the main difference between 2024 and 1968 is that the Chicago mayor this year will be on the side of the protesters, not the cops.
How bad is it gonna get?
Asked at the groundbreaking this week if he was open to calling in the National Guard for the convention, the governor said he didn’t think “we’ll need it.” But Pritzker made sure to note the Chicago police had jurisdiction and he’d only call in the guard if “the city asks us to — it would be completely inappropriate to just march into a city.”
So countdown until it happens.

It’s a uni-party. DemoCraps, RepubliCraps. They are all kissing moo slim ass. There is one thing will fix Schit-cago. Burn it down and rebuild it. But that won’t happen probably till the Great Tribulation. My guess is that these big cities will burn to the ground then, or worse. Will be very interesting to see what happens to these huge cities during the 1000 year reign of Christ. If they even still exist after the Great Tribulation.
“And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they? And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb”. – Revelation 7:14

The choice of cities looks like lunacy.

Well, it is the Democrats we’re talking about here. Normal, healthy people do not seek absolute power.

You’d think the GOP would spend their money, at least, in a Republican law and order state like Florida, where there would be fewer and shorter lived disruptions. They act like controlled opposition.

Lay in your supply of popcorn as early as you can. Expected supply chain issues will limit how much of the crunchy treat that you’ll be able to enjoy.

Perhaps with “some fava beans, and a nice chianti”? Cough.

Both conventions should be held in Wash. DC, NYC, or LA, becuase no where else in the USA does anyone want to see and hear the Uniparty of the ruling elite. Maybe have the conventions in Deerborn MI or Minneapois where the crazy moos slims love the uni-party as a tool of destruction and as an ATM machine.

The City with Broad Shoulders can only be seen in newsreels of the past … or in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. A mayor who thought another waterfront park was more valuable than Miegs Field. Another mayor who collaborated to use public park land to build the Obamausoleum. Venerable businesses failing. A relocated airframe manufacturer that can’t find its posterior with both hands. Chicago is the perfect place for the Democrat Party to meet in convention to nominate a senile candidate for president of the United States.

Perhaps the plan is to nominate a “favorite daughter” of the city?
