The automobile market in this country was wrecked on the assumption that everyone would be switching to electric cars. As I wrote in, “No Cars for the Working Class”, that’s not happening. Ford and GM bled billions to fail at capturing a tiny niche market already owned by Tesla. Most people don’t want, can’t use and can’t afford electric cars.
The latest Gallup poll shows that the number of electric car owners slowly grew, but that those people are wealthy and most already have their cars. 7% of Americans now own an EV, only 9% would consider buying and 48% or half the country would not buy. 14% of EV owners are upper income while only 2% are working class. 61% of working class Americans won’t buy an electric car.
What about China? The Communist dictatorship that our socialist dictators are relying on to go green. Also no.
China is the most important country in the world when it comes to the future of electric vehicles: It accounts for about 60% of all global EV sales, its market for EVs is surging, and it is home to the planet’s biggest EV manufacturer.
So a recent survey showing that more than a fifth of battery EV owners in China want their next car to be powered by fossil fuels is understandably raising alarm bells in the industry.
All such surveys are followed by a round of, “Well they haven’t given them a chance and there aren’t enough chargers.”
Or, just maybe, Chinese people have tried EVs and outside of a niche market of urbanites don’t want them. And that’s in a country where electricity is subsidized.
China is a Communist dictatorship so what people want or don’t want, doesn’t really matter that much. Just like in California. But even so, it’s another vote of low confidence in the green future that leftists want to see become as optional in America as it is in China.

Of the EV owners in the United States, an important question (to me) Is how many of the EV owners also have a gas powered car in their driveway? Having an EV is easy when one also has a real car, so as if any problems occur they dont have to rely on the golf cart to get them to their sick mothers house.

Maybe all cars should now be built with a nuclear reactor engine.
At least that will eliminate the need for refueling/battery charging every 50 miles.
With a nuclear reactor auto engine, drivers will only have to refuel after about 200,000 miles.
Nuclear auto engines are the future.
Screw solar and wind.
