I believe that breaking the story on pandemic nursing home deaths was one of the most important things I have ever done. I wrote an extensive series breaking down the numbers state by state, and focusing on particular facilities, exposing the policies behind the death toll, and the officials responsible. I peeled back the lies and hammered away at the story for months and years. And it all proved to be mostly useless.
No one, not one major elected official or health official, was ever held responsible or paid a price for their actions during the pandemic. Most actually came out of it pretty well. Even Gov. Cuomo only lost his seat because of dubious claims of sexual harassment, and appears likely to stage a comeback. The public debate over the pandemic became segmented in ways that made it impossible to discuss what happened in nursing homes. The only people who cared were the ones who had lost loved ones.
And after all these years, the sheer political callousness of it takes my breath away.
It’s 2025 and a DOJ ‘watchdog’ has apparently been investigating whether the investigating of the nursing home killing fields was really too political.
A Justice Department watchdog report into leaks to the media about the agency’s investigations into pandemic-related nursing home deaths in New York and New Jersey uncovered evidence that the disclosures were aimed at influencing the 2020 election.
Inspector General Michael Horowitz concluded that the leaks were orchestrated by senior DOJ officials and violated department policies governing interactions with the press about ongoing investigations. DOJ’s investigations, which proved politically embarrassing for New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo and New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy, came as then-President Donald Trump attacked Democratic governors over their handling of the pandemic as his own poll numbers plummeted.
Again. Incredible.
Killing thousands by bringing infected patients into nursing homes does not merit any action against any of the officials responsible, some of whom went on to play a role in the Biden administration, including a certain male ‘admiral’ who claims to be a woman, but it’s more important to investigate whether the investigation of thousands of deaths was political.
And the same sociopaths responsible for this are gleefully playing the media again.
Aides to Cuomo said the report vindicated their claims that DOJ targeted the then-governor for political reasons. “This blockbuster report confirms what we’ve said all along: The federal government corrupted and misused the Department of Justice to influence the 2020 presidential election – and in the process weaponized the real pain of those who lost loved ones to COVID in a nursing home,” Cuomo spokesperson Rich Azzopardi said in a statement, pointing to parts of the report indicating that nursing home deaths occurred at similar levels in states that DOJ did not investigate.
When you want to see evil in black and white, read the stuff Cuomo’s people put out there, and know that the media will continue covering up for the mass murder of the elderly. They will never face any justice except at the hands of a Higher power.

Putting the infected into nursing homes was peak stupidity at best. Anyone familiar with nursing homes and theory of infectious diseases should have been able to realize that.
Or maybe they just wanted to kill off the elderly.
Hard to believe, but that just might be the case.
When the Covid lockdown began, my worrying about my loved ones became so much more intense than usual. So, I decided to read, think about and comment on Mr. Greenfield’s absorbing articles, to find a counterbalance to my constant ‘worry time’. Immune to realistic cynicism about the dark side of human nature, dreamers initially embraced the idea that globally shared Covid would somehow transform selfish immoral human beings into compassionate moral souls.
They welcomed a viral messiah of world peace. How beautiful. How naive. How….insane.
We know how that turned out.
And now, the Covid criminals will indeed ‘bear their own iniquity’. Their iniquity will eventually be rectified by the Rectifier.
We don’t know when and how; but it will.

I am someone who worked in those setting and watched people, with time left in their lives, cut down, and dying isolated. (This was before there were vaccines and so for those who are focused on vaccine side effects, these deaths were not from a vaccine). It most swiftly affected older people, diabetics, cancer patients and others with health issues, So, it looked a lot like WWII Nazi era eugenics. And mass murder. Cuomo knew what he was doing in trying to encourage the spread. Was it all to thwart Trump? Did he feel no conscience in killing grandmas…..and others?
Enter the social media crowd. Since many saw they were being lied to by government and media, the confusion and conspiracy theories were, I guess, a natural outgrowth. The most infuriating, disrespectful, and down right cruel one was that there had been no illness. This not only lowered anxiety by disbelieving that those about in power would commit mass murder, it also absolved those murderers of guilt. The moral cost of this absolution seemed lost on the snarky social media chit chatters.
This was a crime of proportions that are staggering, if we face the facts. Now we know in our lifetimes – and not just in a history book – what evil leaders will do.

For me, I still see the lovely faces of the individuals who perished in 2020 and should not have. I don’t forget them. Let’s not forget them.
Thank you for sharing that experience. I find the mindset of those responsible horrifyingly evil, a complete unconcern for human life. And yes, the social media insistence that there was no problem helped those responsible evade accountability and blunted my own work exposing it. I would write about deaths and the response was that it was just the flu. I don’t know how we move past this, but most have.
It was a cull, they tried to eliminate as many “expensive to keep alive” seniors as possible. Canda led the world in institutional deaths, thanks to government monopoly on deathcare.
