After the Republican landslide, led by Trump, the media is agonizing over its own irrelevance. As well it should. But its pity act is pathetic. The media wasn’t destroyed by a ‘crisis of trust’ created by Trump’s attacks, but by its decision to become a purely partisan leftist agitprop machine whose agenda even the dumbest apolitical person could hardly fail to miss.
The media (like most leftist captured institutions) acted as if it could simply assert that its political positions, no matter how insane, were now the new cultural norms and only crazies and bigots wouldn’t accept them. The media’s message (like that of academia and the entertainment industry) is that it’s normal, and anyone who doesn’t agree with it has something wrong them.
Political landslides have a way of crushing assertions like that, but the media will bounce back, regain its confidence and go back to vocally insisting that Dr. Seuss needs to be censored but that removing graphic LGBTQ porn from school libraries is book banning, and that every illegal alien migrant has the taxpayer-funded right to the taxpayer-funded gender of his/her/its choice.
The media became an echo chamber of the far left. Its influence is now on par with that.
Democrats and their media have had a dark night of the soul and realized that to be relevant, they need to actually be able to talk to people who don’t agree with them. Such dark nights of the soul come and go after political defeats. The media had that moment after 2016 and then began shouting about Russia for the next 4 years. This was a bigger wake-up call, but the media isn’t about to leave its echo chamber.
What it will do is dive into being the new ‘resistance’.

The left leaning broadcasters need their ability to broadcast rescinded. Nothing they broadcast was in the public interest. It was all propaganda and they need taken off of the air. ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN and the rest need gone. When they open their mouths, they lie. Justice has come to America!

If Jeff Bezo’s does what he says he’s going to do, he may save his Washington Post. He, most of all surprised me. I mean really, the liberals ran him out of Seattle.. We are seeing many on the Left say things they didn’t dare to before Nov. 5. Defeat acts as a truth serum for the party of lies.
It was very temporary last time – in 2016. Then, they dove full-throttle into what they knew was fake- the Russia Russia hoax. They knew. They lied for over 2 years on every channel, outlet, paper and blog. I assume any self reflection will be temporary again. Unless the licenses of some networks are at stake, maybe?
