Victoria Coates is a former Deputy National Security Adviser in the first Trump administration. Now she is the Vice President of the Kathryn and Shelby Cullom Davis Institute for National Security and Foreign Policy at the Heritage Foundation. She has an interesting take on what is not the “Palestinian problem” (with its implied “two-state solution”), but rather, the “Palestinians’ problem,” the problem, that is, of failing to recognize the significance of their repeated defeats. For nobody will tell it to them straight. She does. More of her discussion can be found here: “Victoria Coates: Palestinians lost battle with Israel – ‘someone has to tell them,’” by Maayan Hoffman, ILTV, December 3, 2024:
The Palestinian-Israeli conflict ended decades ago with the country’s founding and its victory in the 1967 Six-Day War, according to former U.S. Deputy National Security Adviser Victoria Coates.
Speaking to ILTV on Monday at the Misgav Institute for National Security & Zionist Strategy, she said the Palestinians were never told they lost. Instead, “they were encouraged, particularly after the Iranian Revolution, to continue this self-defeating, suicidal, genocidal [behavior] we saw on October 7.”
“Someone has to have the nerve to say to the Palestinians, we are not negotiating a ceasefire, we’re negotiating terms” to end the conflict, she added.
Coates, an evangelical Christian and staunch supporter of the Jewish state has visited Israel many times. She has held several key political leadership roles, including serving in the Department of Energy, where she advised Secretary Dan Brouillette on national security issues and acted as his representative in the Middle East and North Africa.
Today, she serves as Vice President of the Kathryn and Shelby Cullom Davis Institute for National Security and Foreign Policy at The Heritage Foundation. She recently published a book, The Battle for the Jewish State: How Israel—and America—Can Win, which focuses on October 7 and why America must stand with Israel.
She said the possibilities for the Palestinians, if they were to disarm and accept defeat, are abundant….
What would that mean? It would mean they would have, as Prime Minister Netanyahu likes to say, “all the powers they need to govern themselves, and none of the powers to harm Israel.”
Coates told ILTV she believes Trump would act decisively to expand the Abraham Accords, including securing a Saudi deal….
Is an Israel-Saudi “normalization deal” even possible? The Saudis insist that first a Palestinian state must be created. The Israelis are not about to see themselves squeezed back within the 1949 armistice lines, with a nine-mile-wide waist from Qalqilya to the sea, in order to accommodate a 23rd Arab state that would be used to launch future attacks on the single Jewish state. Let me repeat it one more time: As Prime Minister Netanyahu has said, Israel wants the Palestinian Arabs to have all the powers to govern themselves, but none of the powers to harm Israel.
Trump will likely operate with an “unabashedly pro-Israel stance” because he understands this approach is in America’s best interest.
“I’m a Christian … but that’s not why I am here and not why I wrote the book,” Coates emphasized. “I wrote the book because the United States, we need Israel in the region, we need Israel locally, to be a partner and ally to us.”
She highlighted Trump’s nomination of former Governor Mike Huckabee as ambassador to Israel as an example of his pro-Israel policies and his understanding of the evangelical community that played a significant role in his election.
“You would assume that Israel would want a Jewish ambassador. But I think the enthusiasm for Governor Mike Huckabee is palpable,” Coates said. “I think he can help bridge those two worlds and not make this a Jewish or Christian issue. This is an American issue. There are hundreds of millions of Americans who care deeply about Israel.”
Listen up, Palestinian Arabs. You lost. Get over it.

“Palestinian” nationalism was never about creating a “Palestinian State” but destroying Israel and its Jewish population. Hamas, Fatah, Hezbollah, and figures susch as “Moderate Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas” and “Moderate Palestinian spokeswoman Hanan Ashrawi differ from Hitler not in genocidal intent toward Jews, but in terms of their ability to carry out their Hitlerian fantasies.

Absolutely right. Anybody who reads this site should know by now the meaning of J-I-H-A-D. To paraphrase somebody; the issue is never the issue. (where Muslims are concerned) the issue is always Jihad.

Israel’s existence is a source of conflict. To the Left and New World Order, conflict is a good thing. Perhaps conflict is the only thing worth fighting for.. Conflict makes people choose-up sides. The next thing they do is contribute money to the cause. Alternatively, if they are part of the government, they consign money that is not theirs to the cause. Once ‘other people’s money’ is available, some people become rich, others become politically powerful, and finallly others become cannon fodder. The Gazans are cannon fodder. The world bodies had enough money to be able to make poor people comfortable. For their martyrdom, the Gazan acquired lower middle-class economic status. As Stalin said, “The capitalists will sell you the rope that will be used to hang them.” It’s OK! Actually, the Communists will also sell anyone the rope with which everyone will hang themselves – including the Communists. Life, to these especially warped people, is insufficient. They require everyone to have a cause for which they will die. Not to put too fine a point on it, the mothers of these political activists did not love them well enough.

The displaced Arabs -aka so-called Palestinians- Are the victims of their own Arab brethren. They have been used and abuse by Arab governments and their religious leadership. In a holy war against the infidels -The Jews-. Between 1948 and 1957 800,000 Jews have expelled from Arab lands compare less than 500,000 Arabs from Israel proper. Unlike Arab states Israel absorbed majority of those Jewish refugees. Arab states who encouraged those people to flee Israel never gave them citizenship. Instead they left them in a temporary camps just for the purpose of creating entire generation of displaced people just to make them a thorn on Israel’s neck. The reality is the problem in The ME is not Palestinian Arabs but the Arab nations and Islamic supremacy. That see Israel as an extension of their mortal enemy western Christian civilization. Basically Israel is fighting a war the west should be fighting.

When the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor they basically lost the war the moment the first shot was fired. Dumbest thing they could have done. They could never have matched the U.S. industrial capacity.
When the idiot Gaza Jihadis attacked the Israel’s Nova Music festival on October 7 2023 they lost their war the moment the first shot was fired and the first kid murdered.
I don’t care what the Gaza death toll is at the hands of the IDF. The more the better. The same goes for the Hezbollah death toll in Lebanon. The more the better. These two terrorist groups are a blight on humanity along with their benefactors, the Iranian Mullahs.
Perhaps, with Trump now in office, the Iranian people will have the where with all to finally take them out. The last two times they tried there were Leftists in the WH….Obama and Biden. Ya gotta know Trump will be shipping them arms.

Trump isn’t yet (2024-12-24T17:10Z) in office.
Patience. Then savor the day.

Maybe not. But as far as I’m concerned he is the president. Not that desiccated husk handing out pardons to murderers like candy.

Shipping arms to the people to overthrow their dictator is a very attractive idea, but can be fraught with unintended consequences.

Actually the reason the palestinians have continued their revolts is because of financing from the larger arab states. The area is tribal and if the tribal leader is bought then he is easily controlled. A bomb here or there, a generational uprising and continuous propaganda have a great virtue in the eyes of other arab leaders and their pot bangers. Distraction!! It gives the street arab in Egypt or Yemen or Syria a focus point other than his own governments’ tyrannies and embezzlement’s.

Syria has seen a large portion of it’s population flee to safer, more prosperous Nations. They’ve shown their appreciation by sucking up vast amounts of welfare and contributed not much other than misery. They should go back home now that Assad is gone! As for the “palestinians”? They too should “go home” – wherever that might be! Israel should just open the Syrian border and “allow” all the pallies to “go home”. Maybe they could do what the Israelis did – make a Nation out of a Wilderness!! But, I would expect the pallies to create something more like a WILDNESS! If Israel doesn’t expel them all then they should make Gaza one of the safest places on earth – a veritable DEMOcrat DREAM! NO GUNS of any sort! NO VIOLENCE tolerated – even the sharia sanctioned wife beatings!! Anyone caught with a gun should be EXILED to Syria or Iran – AND their Families! Let the pallies police their own knowing the consequences of an idiot’s action! Lebanon may be case of self cleansing of the mullah’s men! Now that the people see what is possible – pager sales have to be nearly non-existent – maybe they will decide to live in Peace rather than PIECES! Let’s hope and Pray so. Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah as the case may be!!

There is a Palestinian state. It is called Jordan. That was the point of the division of mandatory Palestine.

The “conflict” (since 1913 hateful poem in ‘Falastin’ by a Sheikh) is based on intolerance to the ‘other’ in the Middle East.
Arab racism and Islamic bigotry.
The grandchildren of Arab immigrants, who since the 196os adopted the exclusive title “Palestinians”, have largely supported terrible leaders. From Hitler’s Mufti through Shukeiri, Arafat, Abbas.
The self inflicted cult has also intensified using its civilians to cause their death “dead baby strategy”, it began by Arafat in Lebanon in 1982.

I’m very happy for the success of the Abraham Accords. And I really hope that Trump can bring more Muslim-controlled countries into the Accords. I’m not optimistic; but if anyone can pull this off, it will be Trump.
The problem is, Muslims just can’t bear the thought of treating Jews as the equals of Muslims. So if they recognize Israel as a Jewish state, they will be doing something that goes against everything that they have been taught since birth – that Jews can never be treated as the equals of Muslims.
