Congressman Jamaal Bowman has called former Harvard President Claudine Gay a “brilliant & historic Black woman” who was “bullied” by “fascists.”
It’s all such nonsense. Gay is not “brilliant.” No one who has looked into her published works — so very few, and those so very thin — would call her that. Her handful of papers — 11 in the last 26 years — are simple-minded analyses of data, data points, datasets. Had she been white, with a similar unimpressive publishing record, she would never have been appointed to the Harvard faculty in the first place, much less been chosen as president. She is “historic” only in the sense of being the first black president of Harvard, a hollow achievement given what she has managed to do, and failed to do, in the six months of her tenure. Her letter of resignation was instructive. It omitted any mention of antisemitism and her abysmal performance before Congress, passed over in silence the charges of serial plagiarism — for that, more than her testimony before Congress, has been the most damning of all her misdeeds. In her resignation letter, she struck a note of ill-concealed resentment toward those who she feels had forced her — so unfairly! — to resign.
But surely the last laughable word on the subject of the racism that brought down this splendid scholar deserves to be given by the World’s Greatest Authority, none other than Professor Cornel West, KG, Ph.D.,L L.D., Litt.D., O.B.E., F. R.S.L., F.R.S., KCB.. Here is the ineffable spokesman for all that is good and decent in our society, harrowing the hounds of hell in defense of a damsel in distress who has been treated with such white — always white — racist disdain:
How sad but predictable that the same figures and forces enabling the ethnic cleansing and genocidal attacks on Palestinians in Gaza – Ackman, Blum, Summers and others – push out the first Black woman president of Harvard! This racism against both Palestinians and Black people is undeniable and despicable! I have experienced similar attacks from the same forces in academia with too many of my colleagues remaining silent! When big money dictates university policy and raw power dictates foreign policy, the moral bankruptcy of American education and democracy looms large! But we shall remain strong in our fight for Truth Justice Love! #Harvard
I was waiting to see if Cornel West, always in our thoughts, would come through as expected, connecting the dots between the mob baying for the blood of Claudine Gay, whose nobility shines through her every word, even those borrowed without attribution, and the other great outrage of our time, the cruelty inflicted by the settler-colonial-apartheid-genocidal state of Israel on the innocents of Hamas. West does not hold back. He names names — Ackman, Blum, Summers. He threw in “Blum” to make sure we would get his point that “three Jews” and others of that same protocols-of-the-elders-of-zion ilk were the ones responsible for the ouster of Claudine Gay. Cornel West has suffered, he tells us, from the “moral bankruptcy of American education,” but he’s not doing badly, holding as he does the Dietrich Bonhoeffer Chair at Union Theological Ceremony. But Cornel West needs a bigger stage to strut open. After all, this Renaissance man, described by Wikipedia as “an American philosopher, theologian, political activist, social critic, actor, and public intellectual,” should not continue to shine his light under a barrel, when he could be enlightening the whole country — nay, the whole world. Did I mention that in 2020, West was “listed by Prospect magazine as the fourth-greatest thinker for the COVID-19 era”? I doubt if any of us can name the other three — they have long been forgotten, while Cornel West rises ever higher in the worlds esteem.
West is reported to be running for President. Of course, he would be wonderful at the job, but I don’t think the American people are ready for someone so ahead of his time, and so devastatingly articulate, as Cornel West. I have another idea. Right now, the members of the Harvard Corporation need to reassure the world that Harvard will not continue to be a “racist institution” as Jamaal Bowman, Ibram X. Kendi, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, and so many others have charged in the wake of Claudine Gay’s resignation. Offer the presidency of Harvard to Cornel West, a bully pulpit from which he can not only revolutionize American higher education, but “lift up all humanity.” If anyone can do it, Cornel West can.

I do believe that many don’t know the MEANING of “TRUTH” or “ABILITY” or “CAPABILITY” or “HONESTY” and prefer to substitute “RACIST” for anything that questions any of the former when it is applied to a black person! Even now the corrupt FAHNNEH of Georgia is using her “blackness” as an EXCUSE for her corruption! Is she REALLY saying “hey, don’t expect me to be HONEST – I’m BLACK”??? Yeah. I would challenge him to take an IQ test, just as Biden should have to take a cognitive test. I spent years administering IQ tests, and would in fact estimate West’s IQ to be under 100. He’s fun to watch, though. What an unintentionally hilarious fool he is.
Wikipedia should have included “racial arsonist, denier of reality, and boor” in its description of him. Have you ever seen a TV interview with him.? After calling everyone his “brother” or “sister” he relentlessly interrupts, talks over others and cannot respond intelligently to anything they may have, despite his best attempts, gotten through. One might posit, given his identification by name of three Jews and none others as being responsible for Gay’s resignation, he might also be described as anti-Semitic. BTW, wasn’t he a professor or adjunct at Harvard at one time?

When I first heard Claudine Gay’s anti-Semitic words my first thought was, she thinks she can get away with this because she thinks she’s at the top of the Communist hierarchy – but she’s not. That prize would go to a gay, black, mentally ill terrorist. And then, viola! A Harvard- educated gay, black, mentally ill terrorist stepped up to defend her. So I think Barack Obama would be the ideal Harvard president. He’s the very embodiment of everything they stand for.
