Before he ever ran for public office, I read J.D. Vance’s book, Hillbilly Elegy. It had angered someone who got triggered pretty easily, so I wanted to read it for myself. What I got was an eye-opening and entertaining memoir of Vance’s childhood, some parallels with things I see in my own community, and a glimpse at just why the left would come to hate him so much.
The truth is that Vance is a lot of things that people want in a candidate. He’s young, well-spoken, intelligent, and understands the issues.
Your average leftist would hate him for that alone, but they have more of a reason.
You see, Vance represents just how much of their ideology is an absolute lie.
Many leftists like to argue that America is a nation of haves and have-nots and that the haves got there via things like inheritance, cronyism, and other nefarious methods. They want people to believe that the system is rigged against them and they can never make it out of poverty on their own. The idea of “pulling yourself up by your bootstraps” just isn’t realistic.
The problem is that Vance did just that.
He came from the lower socioeconomic strata. He joined the Marine Corps in order to pay his way through college. There, he worked his tail off to graduate with solid grades so he could go to law school at Yale.
Over my many years, I’ve seen a lot of leftists claim that getting out of poverty is all but impossible. Some have even claimed the military wasn’t an option for escape despite the fact that yes, it is, and it’s obvious to anyone who cares to look.
Vance shows that there’s a pathway toward college if you want it badly enough.
He went from relative poverty to being a venture capitalist, a United States senator, and possibly just a week away from becoming vice president of the United States.
What’s more, he did it without becoming a leftist like Barack Obama or Bill Clinton. He recognized the virtue of his own hard work and rather than pretend he’s some rare soul who made it out, he recognized that while others might not get quite where has, they can escape their poverty-stricken lives and become more of they’re willing to work for it.
They hate him because his very existence proves that what they’re peddling to millions of people is nothing more than nonsense.
They attack him because they’re scared the people they’re peddling that nonsense to will see that the emperor has no clothes and that they, too, can achieve if they put their minds, hearts, and souls into doing so.
Will it be easy? Not necessarily. Vance doesn’t prove it’s easy, he proves it’s possible, which is all a lot of people really need. All they need is to know that it can be done so they won’t feel like they’re wasting their time or will know that it’s achievable when life gets hard.
And for the leftists, that’s an issue because people who realize they can achieve on their own won’t need them for anything.
A person like J D Vance (a white male of blue collar background) is the object of concentrated hatred by the Left, even as they make pathetic and unartful attempts to lure them back into the Democratic Party fold (someone needs to tell Kamala’s ad-persons that carburetors were phased out of cars in favor of fuel injection engines 40 years ago). Remember the smug, estrogen drenched Barack Hussein Osama referring to “Smal town blue collar whites who’ve turned to God and guns out of bitterness” at a fundraiser people by virtue signaling Hollywood celebrities ? For all their prattle about “diversity” and “inclusion”, a lower class white male will never be accepted in their midst by people who themselves enjoy more real “privilege” than he can realistically expect to attain.
He uncovers their darkest Secrets and the UN/WEF/CFR and their Global Government
Vance epitomizes resolve, discipline, honesty, courage & success.
Contrast that with the retarded buffoon picked for the leftist VP ticket. His resume’ is in the sewer.
Walz has an apparent wager to see if he can embarrass/shame himself more than Biden or Harris.
(1) “Now shout your own name!” Harris is galloping away with the “Embarrass Myself” title..
(2) Sleepy “10% for the Big Guy” Biden had the shame title locked before he took office.
(3) Tampon Tim is too dullard to win anything, but he sure gave it the old college try.
Vance is hated, first because he is a successful White male. Then, he’s hated for being able to articulate how ineffective and useless the Left’s positions really are. Finally, he’s hated for being a US Marine, and more man than most of them could ever be.
JD Vance is living the American Dream! From lower middle class he has moved up in America. The communist/socialist dream is everyone being in the peasant class with our rulers telling us how to live and what privileges we are granted. Millions left Europe to come to the states to do better for themselves and their families. As stated above Vance has moved up until he is about to be the 2d leader of the United States, a heart beat away from being president. He also understands the lie that Americans have been fed for over 100 years. The lie that military service can’t prepare you for future success has been proved again and again. Vance served in the US Marine Corps. It added anything that he missed growing up. He did his tour going anywhere the government wanted him to. As a retired Army Master Sergeant I have seen the service save many a lost young man and woman. He has also developed faith in our Heavenly Father. He understands our Constitution and like Trump plans to implement it. Another reason the demoncraps hate him. I expect that the presidential field in 2028 to be seriously contended.
Vance is an opportunist who in a past life called Trump a cancer… Who wants all Americans to abide by his popish religion…. Who does not care if Putin were to attack Europe.
