New York’s top prosecutors have overseen a massive crime wave due to their pro-crime policies even while targeting their political opponents. Even before Trump, Attorney General Letitia James went after the NRA.
Why? Because the NRA had made the mistake of incorporating in New York. Trump, a New Yorker whose family business interests were centered in the city, had fewer options for avoiding the problem, but the indictment, inevitable and doomed to fail, shows the costs of non-Democrats doing business in New York.
And hyperpartisan one-party states dominated by radicals.
In the current phase of the cold civil war, states are consolidating. One-party Democrat states like California and New York are becoming virtual dictatorships, immune to elections and bent on implementing the most extreme agendas of the furthest Left. Some Republicans, like Gov. Abbot in Texas and Gov. DeSantis in Florida, have begun fighting back.
That means it’s a bad time to be a Republican in New York or a Democrat in Florida.
As bad as the federal abuses of Russiagate were, none of the feds, whose fabled prosecutors can “indict a ham sandwich” actually went as far as DA Alvin Bragg in Manhattan did.
What that means is that blue states and cities are now more lawless, more biased and more ruthless than federal authorities are. And that makes sense. The feds occasionally have to answer to and interact with Republicans who play a role in the national government. Republicans no longer play a role in New York City or New York State. There are no brakes on someone like DA Bragg lynching political opponents.
It’s the federal layer that will really protect Trump here.
DA Bragg has no case, but even if he manages to get this past a Manhattan jury and judge, this will ultimately fall apart, but not because New York’s judiciary can be trusted to do the right thing. It can’t.
Unlike a lot of ‘national divorce’ advocates, I’m not telling conservatives to flee blue states. Many of them are worth fighting for. And I say that as a lifelong New Yorker. But be aware of the risks. The NRA was not and Trump’s people, who saw what was coming down the pike, needed to prepare for the storm. Conservative organizations should not incorporate in hyper-blue jurisdictions, although they still face risks when they raise money in blue states. And prominent conservatives should understand the personal risks of living in a blue state or city that is being run by leftists.
This is a cold civil war that’s heating up. And this lawlessness is part of the process.

“lynching political opponents” About a by-the-book indictment on a crime everyone knows Trump committed.
Typical that you will use the most incendiary political rhetoric you can come up with, to rile your readers into committing acts of political violence you would never dare come near.
And then you accuse your opponents of inciting hatred.

This is the first I’ve seen Dem trolls on this site. Please Psalms 52 to see why God recommends Frontpage removes you or blocks you from this site.

The main thing to remember is that if this site has Demotrolls, that means the WOKE ENEMY is worried about, and paying attention to FPM – quite a compliment.
Secondly, don’t worry, Trump will make it through ok – as a famous law professor once said, “If the jury is cherry-picked by the prosecution, there is always the possibility that the trial will end with the “jury hung” – so yes, I love these trolls from the heart of my bottom.

By the book indictment? No one knows what’s in that indictment since it’s still sealed, but somehow you know. Right.
Kynarion Hellenis says
Wow. You think this is a “by-the-book indictment”?
If that were so, COUNTLESS other would have been indicted under this law for doing what Trump is alleged to have done. But Trump is the first and ONLY person to be criminally prosecuted under this law.
Bragg uses a highly creative legal theory, stretched to ridiculous limits, for one purpose – to punish dissent by punishing the highest-profile representative of it.
Prosecutors have never been permitted “creativity” where criminal charges are concerned. They are and should be limited to the use criminal statutes “by the book.” Bragg’s indictment is framed upon a novel use of these statutes.
The more obvious conclusion is malicious prosecution and / or prosecutorial misconduct – a breach of the fidelity and trust all prosecutors owe to the constitution and the people of their jurisdictions.
TruthLaser says
Bragg’s “novel” or “untested” legal theory, as it is being called, is illegal.

Mr. Greenfield
Remarkable insight once again. I agree that America is in a cold civil war that is going hot, but I cannot imagine the Left agreeing to a national divorce and allowing the majority of the country of We The People govern ourselves. Leftists believe they wield dominion over all of America and Americans and will never cede control.
Kynarion Hellenis says
Constitutional conservatives would agree to divorce. Leftist progressives would not. They are parasites on us and destructive of all who join their religious cult – the symbol of which is the snake eating its tail.
They need us. We do not need them. They are slaves and wish to be our master. We are free and do not agree to be their slaves. Our past compromises have given them a taste of living easy upon the burden of our labors. They like it and we have grown weary of their increasing burdens and demands.
I HATE you. Don’t ever leave me.

Trump is a catalyst that speeds up something inevitable after the Dems allowed their radicals to take over and then steal the 2020 election
Even if TRump does run in 2024 he’ll never win as the Dems are in full banana republic mode and have found a way to game the system in those crucial swing states with ”mail in voting ” . They will never let go of that
This is likely all a moot point as Trump will be lucky just to avoid assassination by some whack job incited by the Dems and their friends in the MSM , or worse, some creep in the FBI who places an altitude bomb on his plane , or some maniac with a drone (mark my words)
Suddenly it’s 1858 again

My little angle is the complexity of the law. Each year a bunch of stupid laws gets passed, the total mass of the laws keeps growing. Come to think of it, just now, that kind of thing was part of the reason for the fall of the Spanish Empire. Anyway, at this point anyone can be indicted or convicted of multiple violations, if the authorities look hard enough.
TruthLaser says
However, the prosecutor was not able to find a law to use. He indicted anyway. His case is facially deficient and should be thrown out. However, long the process goes, it is lawfare.
NAHalkides says
That’s true, and it would apply here if Bragg had tried to indict Trump on a misdemeanor charge for making a tiny mistake on a bureaucratic form that he didn’t even fill out himself(!), but the statute had run out. So to inflate the charge to a felony, Bragg decided that the alleged mistake on a report was intended to cover up the alleged federal crime of paying off Stormy. Trouble is, the Stormy payoff isn’t a federal crime (campaign finance violation) and Bragg and NY would have no jurisdiction if it were!
That’s how far Bragg has overstretched things to get this indictment. No sane jury would convict, but with enough Democrat jurors…

Just finished re-reading Shelby Steele’s “White Guilt: How Blacks and White Together Destroyed The Promise of the Civil Rights Era”” (2006). It’s a soul-searching essay about a black man’s dawning recognition that the Left’s obsession with racial justice perversely puts the substitution of a new racist orthodoxy– dissociation from a Jim Crow past– in the place of erstwhile notions of impartial justice. In the new dispensation, blacks cannot be racists– by definition– like other human beings. Thus, complaining about an unjust legal indictment filed by a black prosecutor now amounts to racism on the part of the complainer, by definition. Ergo, look for there to to be a black face promoting every future indictment of Donald Trump and for white politicians of every stripe to cower in fear of being called… wait for it… “Racist!” Justice be damned.
Kynarion Hellenis says
One of the things I notice is the many black faces calling for the destruction of the United States. Disproportionate like so many other things black people do.

Conservatives shouldn’t fight in deep blue states.
For now, they must focus on the Lean D swing states that need to be flipped red – Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Arizona, New Hampshire, Maine, and Minnesota.
Most especially Michigan and Pennsylvania. But unfortunately the conservatives there are far too cowardly and just move to Florida and Texas whenever elections don’t go their way. Which is making it harder for us to win those states.
Unfortunately, nobody really wants to fight even for Light blue states and flip them red.
Say what you will about Mitch McConnell, but he’s the reason Kentucky flipped from blue to solid red. He didn’t just give up and move to the Deep South when Kentucky was still deep blue. He stayed and fought to make it red. Back in the 70s he took on the Louisville Democrat machine, and he emerged victorious.
Sadly, most hardcore conservatives would wet their pants at the thought of doing what McConnell did way back when.

Like all too many writers and commentators, as well as the entire Republican Party and those people who call themselves Conservatives, Greenfield does not understand how deeply divided the nation is or how near is that divorce he writes about. You are delusional if you believe it will be peaceful. Neo-Marxist Democrat leaders have been committed to the destruction of a nation based on a Constitution since 1985.* With every year since then that commitment has grown stronger. There appears to be no such commitment to Liberty and the Constitution on the other side. Some thirty percent of Americans may end up fighting the hot counter-revolution against the Neo- Marxists (who right now control the armed forces) while others twiddle their thumbs. That was the percentage of men who pursued the Revolutionary War that freed America from Britain.
*In 1860 the situation was reversed. It was the Republican Party that was uncommitted to the Constitution.

Soros is laughing so hard his dentures fell must have fallen out.
After spending his life trying to outdo his competitor (the German fuhrer), Soros has focused his ‘talents’ in trying to decimate not just the GOP, but all of America and western civilization, and now with this new achievement (Trump’s indictment) Soros is taking a victory lap – for his prize target America is now imploding from within due to his relentless efforts.
As the Demagogic Party godfather (aka financial sponsor and enabler and master planner), he has just outdone his rival domestic comrades Obama and Hillary in the amount of destruction caused this month to the American Way of Life (George scores another 10 points!).
The CCP, however, is still ahead of the game because their hypersonic missiles can make all of Soros’ “accomplishments” irrelevant in only 30 minutes if the red dictator decides to hit the red button. In that scenario George wouldn’t get any credit for his life’s mission, would lose 30 points, and have to return to the start of the game – where he would then have to pick another country to try to decimate the ‘best’ and fastest, among all the players.
