There has rarely been as simple and a revealing a choice as the TikTok ban.
After outsourcing much of our economy to China, the TikTok app handed over our youth and much of our politics to China. Banning it should have been a straight and simple call. The fact that it’s not shows how much influence China has over our politics and our elites.
China would never allow an American social media app to operate in its country. Twitter and Facebook are banned there. With TikTok, China has the best of both worlds, it’s able to influence us, but we can’t influence it.
The amount of data on Americans that TikTok gobbles up is potentially incredible. And in light of a series of recent high-profile military espionage cases, it’s worth asking how much of that data is potentially actionable.
We should also be cracking down on domestic Big Tech monopolies like Facebook which continues to dominate social media, but Elon Musk’s purchase of Twitter, the existence of Parler, TruthSocial, etc has improved the domestic environment a bit for conservatives.
TikTok however remains a massive national security threat and an enemy influence operation that is wrecking American society while promoting the most destructive elements of the leftist culture war.
If Congress can’t ban TikTok, then it is hopelessly corrupt.
Gordon says
Congress, the entire executive branch and every 3-letter agency are already hopelessly corrupt. Facebook, Youtube, etc. are tools of U.S. intelligence to push misinformation and disinformation and false narratives on the American people as well as to silence any who oppose. Tiktok is a tool of the CCP used to corrupt our youth and undermine America from within, but in so doing they also allow truth to get out that runs counter to the false narratives pushed by our own government. The CCP is a threat but our own government is a greater threat to our individual liberty. This is due in part to many in government and corporate America wanting to implement the CCP model of societal control in the U.S. American tech companies were instrumental in setting up the social credit systems in China-beta testing, you might call it, before they brought it here.
NAVY ET1 says
Bravo and well said, Gordon. Nothing peeves me more than a professed conservative talking about the latest thing on Tiktok. I would simply add that we’ve been down this road with this CCP app before and if I were a betting man, my money’s on China’s influence remaining available for public download, unfortunately.

Please allow me to repeat from Gordon, above …..
” … many in government and corporate America want to implement the CCP model of societal control in the U.S.
“American tech companies were instrumental in setting up the social credit systems in China-beta testing, you might call it, before they brought it here.”
Exactly true.
The US government will no longer defend America and US citizens from its enemies.
What a disgrace.
What a betrayal.

Everybody needs to memorize this … I quote from Daniel Greenfield above.
“There has rarely been as simple and a revealing a choice as the TikTok ban.
“After outsourcing much of our economy to China, the TikTok app handed over our youth and much of our politics to China. Banning it should have been a straight and simple call.
“The fact that it’s not shows how much influence China has over our politics and our elites.”
The implications are very very far reaching for the fate of America and US citizens.
Wake Up America.

“If Congress can’t ban TikTok, then it is hopelessly corrupt.”
There was never a truer statement.

American Multi-Billionaire Republican/Conservative Jeff Yass, from Susquehanna International Group, LLP, a privately held global trading and technology firm, apparently has a 33 billion dollar investment in Tic-Toc.
This really bothers me.
Jeff Yass is the richest person in Pennsylvania, and is a big funder of Republican/Conservative causes, if not the largest.
Both Facebook and Tic-Toc are manufacturing garbage and ruining the minds of America’s Yoots.
America needs to get rid of both of them.
President Trump should condemn both Facebook/Meta and Chinese communist party run Tic-Toc/ByteDance.
If Trump does not get on the right side of this Tic-Toc issue,
he could truly blow up his 2024 presidential campaign.
Jeff Yass is pushing the social media equivalent of Fentanyl onto America citizens … particularly the Yoots.
Facebook is just as bad as Tic-Toc.
Trump should condemn and oppose both of them for the harm they do to America and US citizens.
Jeff Yass and Mark Zuckerberg are both equally reprehensible traitors to America and US citizens.
